This week will be on promoting acceptance and compassion surrounding mental illness. Language matters; let’s work together to avoid derogatory terms. Happy Mother's Day, Prayer Rally, Mental Health Awareness: Self-Care (Pastoral Emphasis for 5/14)

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers! But we should acknowledge that Mother's Day can be a tough day for many. Some of us have lost our mother. Take comfort in God, our heavenly Father. The Bible says that God watches over His people like a hen who protects her chicks under her wings. If you are in Christ and your mother was in Christ, then you shall see her again. Some mothers have lost children (some by miscarriages or abortion). God has mercy on children, and I do believe you shall see your child one day in eternity. And even if you have aborted a baby, there is forgiveness in Christ. Christ can remove your shame and guilt. There is no condemnation for those in Christ!  There are some women who desire to have children, but it has not happened yet. Trust in the sovereignty of God and know that your self-worth and identity are not in motherhood, but it is in Jesus Christ.  For all you mothers who feel like you don't measure up, you don't have to be perfect, Christ was pe...

Titus 2 will be reorganizing from the Sister Circles to focus on Discipleship, Fellowship, and Sacrificial Service. This will allow the ministry to meet all women's needs but not centered around age. My Hope Sunday & Testimony, EQUIP Conference (Pastoral Emphasis for 3/12)

Today was My Hope Sunday , and we had many guests join us to hear the Gospel. We examined that the basis for our faith and hope starts with Jesus and what He said about Himself. And Jesus made the outstanding claim that He is God. If Jesus is not who He claimed to be, then Christians have no basis for their hope. We only have four options regarding Jesus. Either He is a legend, a liar, a lunatic, or Lord.  But all the evidence points to the fact that Jesus' claim to be God is true. He's not a legend, liar, or lunatic. Jesus is Lord! We also had a testimony from Sis. Jennifer Allen. (Email Subscribers: Click here to see video) We welcome those who recently joined the church: James Smith - Joined on Christian Experience  Tempyss Turner - Joined on Christian Experience  The Western Wake Alumnae chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority joined us for worship today as part of their Sisterhood Celebration. Lent is a time of fasting and prayer from Ash Wednesday to Easter. There are 40 days in Lent (not counting the Sundays). Fasting is the voluntary act of abstaining from something for the purpose of growing in self-discipline. As Christians, we find our security and satisfaction in Christ. Therefore, we can give up something because Christ means more to us than whatever we are giving up. We ask everyone to join us f...
