April Birthdays & Anniversaries, Bible Bowl, Easter Weekend Celebration (Pastoral Emphasis for 4/2)

Happy Birthday to our April babes...

Happy Anniversary to our April couples...

Our April Senior Birthday Surprise goes to Sis. Betty Hollman!

Everyone is invited to register and attend the first-ever Bible Bowl on April 15, 12pm-2pm. Join the studio audience as 5 Mt. Zion teams go head to head on their knowledge of God's word in a fun and friendly competition. Light refreshments will be served.

We're having A Healthy You Symposium on April 29 from 9am-2pm. This event is for everyone to come out and hear information on physical, spiritual, relational, and professional wellness. Exhibitors include chiropractors, dentists, shoe experts, and men's and women's health professionals. Lunch will be provided for registered attendees, and prizes awarded throughout the day. New or like-new books can be donated through April 23 for the free book fair.

One of our core values is “We are the Church, not a theater”. In a theater, you are a spectator to be entertained and served, but in the church, you are engaged with others to be active and serve. We want all of our members to find their place of service. To help with that, we're having a Ministry Open House on 4/16 right after the church service. Ministries will be stationed around the church so you can ask questions and get more information.

We want to invite everyone to join us and bring a guest for our Easter Weekend Celebration. We're having a Good Friday service from 6:30 to 7:30pm. On Saturday, 4/8, we'll have an Easter Egg Hunt at 1pm. Then on Sunday, we'll have our Sunrise Easter service at 6am with Communion. This will be our only service on Sunday.

Dress Code, Spreading the Gospel to Japan, Skits & Pizza (Pastoral Emphasis from 7/26)

Thanks to all who came out to the Church Family Meeting. Our focus is reach the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Even though we don't have a formal dress code at church, I think we have an unspoken one. Our guest may perceive a dress code based on what they see on the stage from leadership. So in order to remove any barriers that might prevent some from visiting us or feeling comfortable in our service, the leadership will dress a little more casual. We will try this out until the end of the year and then evaluate. So don't be surprised when you see me not wearing a tie! I shared the following email that we got via our website to show that we are spreading the Gospel worldwide. To God be the glory! Greetings Mt. Zion Church Family...Today is July 27, 2009 and I would like to share the blessing that I have received from your church. I was talking to my very dear sister, soror, friend Sis Brandi Hancock and she and I were having a heart to heart. I told her that I was

One Life Saved

The Bible declares that all life is valuable. "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well" (Psalm 139:13-14). Here's the story of one life saved....
