God saves children, Bring My Hope Commitment Cards, My Hope Testimony (Pastoral Emphasis for 2/28)

Last Sunday, young Darish Jacobs (age 9) came forward to trust in Christ and be a candidate for baptism. Praise God for saving young souls! Our 2016 Theme is Abide in Christ and Bear Much Fruit. We have a limited supply of t-shirts with this theme on it on sale for $7.00 each. Join us on Wednesday at 7:00pm for our Bible Study series, "The Promised One: Seeing Jesus in Genesis". This week, we'll look at Genesis 25-35 to see Jesus in the life of Jacob. We will not have Communion next Sunday but on Easter instead. My Hope Sunday is 3/20. I'm asking everyone to bring their commitment cards (or a piece of paper) with the name of the person(s) they have invited to church next Sunday. We will pray for those names that God would bless and save them according to His will. I shared my testimony about my mom getting older and being ill while I'm so far away.  With my family and pastoral obligations, it makes it hard for me to get up north to see her often.  Sinc

Happy Valentine's Day, Bereavements, Prayer & Fasting during Lent (Pastoral Emphasis for 2/14)

Happy Valentine's Day. Whether you are married, dating someone (all boo'd up), single, I want you to know that God loves you! That's not a cliché because God demonstrated His love by sending His Son, Jesus to die for your sins ! No greater love is there than for someone to die for another .  Bereavement: Our former saxophone player, Bro. Isaac Stubbs passed away last week from massive stroke.  Please be in prayer for his wife and family. Also, Elder Bullock recently lost an uncle and Elder and Sis. Cherry lost a niece.  Pray for all of them during this time of bereavement. Join us again this Wednesday at 7:00pm for our Bible Study series, "The Promised One: Seeing Jesus in Genesis". This week, we'll look at Genesis 16-24 to see Jesus in the life of Abraham and Isaac. We are now in the season of Lent (40 days of prayer & fasting not including Sundays). We are doing a church-wide fast. You can decide to do a total fast of all foods or a partial fas

Ash Wednesday, Fasting & Prayer, Intercessory Prayer Training (Pastoral Emphasis for 2/7)

Join us again this Wednesday at 7:00pm for our Bible Study series, "The Promised One: Seeing Jesus in Genesis". This week, we'll look at seeing Jesus in the life of Abraham. Also, Wednesday is Ash Wednesday , which is the first day of the Lent season (40 day period of prayer and fasting not including Sundays). After Bible Study (around 7:50pm), we'll be anointing everyone with ashes to demonstrate our mourning over sin and repentance before God. During Lent , we call everyone to fast and pray. You can decide to do a total fast of all foods or a partial fast of a particular food or activity. Fasting is the voluntary act of abstaining from something for the purpose of growing in self-discipline. As Christians, we find our security and satisfaction in Christ. Therefore, we can give up something because Christ means more to us than whatever we are giving up. There will be an intercessory prayer training on Saturday, February 20th, from 9:00am to 11:00am in th
