Senior Saints Living Day, Church-Wide Fast, My Hope Video (Pastoral Emphasis for 2/26)

We welcome Sis. Mwaba Barcelos who recently joined the church on Christian experience. We thank the ladies of the Sigma Rho Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority who joined us for worship today as part of their kick-off for their Finer Womanhood Week.  On Saturday, March 4th, our Care Ministry is hosting a Senior Saints Living Day where there will be speakers, resources, activities, games, and health assessments. We want all of our senior saints to thrive spiritually and physically. Today is the last day to register!  I'm calling for a Church-Wide Fast for Lent . Lent is a time of fasting and prayer from Ash Wednesday to Easter. There are 40 days in Lent (not counting the Sundays). Fasting is the voluntary act of abstaining from something for the purpose of growing in self-discipline. As Christians, we find our security and satisfaction in Christ. Therefore, we can give up something because Christ means more to us than whatever we are giving up. We ask everyone to join us for a

Recently Joined, Prayer Rally, My Hope Sunday (Pastoral Emphasis for 2/19)

We welcome the following people who have recently joined:  Alicia Perry - Joined on Christian Experience  Jason & Kimberly Charles - Joined on Christian Experience & Candidates for Baptism (their children are Princess, age 7; Asher, age 8; Addison, age 12; and Josh, age 17)  Mark your calendar for our second Equip Conference on March 17- 19. The conference is focused on equipping people for evangelism and discipleship. It will help us bear witness to the Gospel of Christ.  We are reminded time and time again that we live in a fallen, sin-filled, cursed world. There was a mass shooting at my alma mater, Michigan State University , where 3 students were killed, and 5 were injured.  There were also 7.8 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes that shook Turkey and Syria , which resulted in more than 46,000 deaths. It is among the most devastating and deadliest disasters seen in recent history. This is why we must pray. Join us for corporate prayer on Tuesday at 7pm at our Church-Wide Pray

As part of Black History Month, we are showing the movie UNSPOKEN on Friday at 6pm. This documentary takes an in-depth look into the Christian heritage of Africa and people of African descent, intended to dispel the notion of Christianity being an exclusively white man’s religion. Join us for pizza, popcorn, and serious dialogue. Guests are welcome!  Ladies, your next time of teaching, encouraging, and affirming ( Titus 2 TEA ) is Saturday starting at 9am.  Here are 3 things to remember this Happy Valentine's Day : Every person has a different story and situation  Whether you are married, single, dating, not dating, divorced, or widowed, I want you to know that you are seen and loved. You are loved in this church even if you don't feel it outside of the church.  Everyone is loved by God, regardless of what you’ve done or who you are  No matter what emotions Valentine's Day may bring, I want you to know that God loves you. No matter what failures you've had in relations

February Birthdays, Unspoken, Invite Your One Sunday (Pastoral Emphasis for 2/5)

We welcome our newest member who completed her NMO and membership interview: Sis. Latisha Boney  Happy Birthday to our February couples   Our February Senior Birthday Surprise goes to Elder Wayne Bullock! This is a reminder to all of our members to please not use Portrait Drive when coming to church. There has been a complaint of people speeding through the Northwoods Crossing neighborhood in one case, which led to a minor accident. Portrait Drive and every road in the Northwoods Crossing community is considered a private drive. Please use the roundabout on Lake Drive or on Allen Lewis Drive, to access the church. Let's be a good witness and neighbor to the Northwoods Crossing community. Join us for pizza, popcorn, and serious dialogue; as we watch and discuss the movie UNSPOKEN on 2/17 at 6pm. This documentary takes an in-depth look into the Christian heritage of Africa and people of African descent, intended to dispel the notion of Christianity being an exclusively white man’s
