My Hope Sunday Recap & Next Steps

God did far more than we asked for or could imagine on My Hope Sunday! If you missed the service, you can watch the entire service when it's posted in our archives or check out my recap below. RSS or Email Subscribers click through to see the video Since making the video, I've gotten a report that at least three people came forward to trust Christ and are candidates for baptism and two people rededicated their lives back to Christ. And three of them are also joining the church.  All praises to God! So where do we go from here? What are the next steps? Follow-up and continue to have conversations with your guests that attended the service. Ask them what they thought of the service and the sermon. Share your testimony of how God saved you. Engage them in gospel conversation. Keep praying for them. If your guest came to saving faith (on Sunday or afterwards), start the discipleship process with them. Setup a regular time with them so that you can take them through th

My Hope is in Jesus, Easter Week Activities, Elder-led Prayer (Pastoral Emphasis on 3/20)

Today was our My Hope Sunday and the church was full with our members and guests.  The focus was to make sure the Gospel was presently clearly throughout the service.  My sermon topic was "My Hope is in Jesus".  And God answered our prayers and moved mightily in the hearts of many.  Several people came forward, some to join, rededicate their life back to Christ, and to trust in Christ for salvation!  We also celebrated as young Darius (age 9) was baptized.  It was truly a great day in the Lord! This is a significant week for us as Christians. This marks the defining events that make Christianity unique. Today is Palm Sunday where we remember Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem. The crowd spread their cloaks and palm branches on the road and sang "Hosanna" as Jesus rode into Jerusalem.  Hosanna means "save now". This week Jesus was betrayed by a disciple and falsely arrested.  On Friday, we celebrate Good Friday where Jesus is crucified.

My Hope Sunday: Invite, Pray, Follow-up (My Pastoral Emphasis for 3/13)

Let's welcome Eric and Danielle Mtika who joined Mt. Zion on Christian Experience! Don't forget: We have a single mom that needs clothing items for a 24 month old toddler boy. He has outgrown his clothes. He wears 2T clothes and size 5 diapers. Gently used items will be welcomed. Also, gift cards are needed to get diapers. We have a box set up in the church near the Welcome Center for one more week. My Hope Sunday is next Sunday, 3/20. This is the Sunday we've invited those we know who are either unbelievers or unchurched to attend church with us. This week, please follow-up with those whom you have invited to encourage them to come. Let them know that they don't have to get dressed up or be expected to give any money. We just want them to come so they can hear the Gospel. Please pray this week that God would move mightily in the hearts of those we invited! We have follow-up material available for download from the church website (called Your New Life in Chris
