Happy Mother's Day, Prayer Rally, Mental Health Awareness: Self-Care (Pastoral Emphasis for 5/14)

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers!

But we should acknowledge that Mother's Day can be a tough day for many. Some of us have lost our mother. Take comfort in God, our heavenly Father. The Bible says that God watches over His people like a hen who protects her chicks under her wings. If you are in Christ and your mother was in Christ, then you shall see her again.

Some mothers have lost children (some by miscarriages or abortion). God has mercy on children, and I do believe you shall see your child one day in eternity. And even if you have aborted a baby, there is forgiveness in Christ. Christ can remove your shame and guilt. There is no condemnation for those in Christ!

There are some women who desire to have children, but it has not happened yet. Trust in the sovereignty of God and know that your self-worth and identity are not in motherhood, but it is in Jesus Christ.

For all you mothers who feel like you don't measure up, you don't have to be perfect, Christ was perfect for you. So be free in Christ, and enjoy being a daughter of the Most High God!

Ladies, this is your Sisterhood Week. This is a great opportunity to share your sisterhood through discipleship, fellowship, and sacrificial service.

On Tuesday, we will have our Church-Wide Prayer Rally from 7- 8pm. Titus2 will be hosting. Everyone is welcome to come out for a powerful time of corporate prayer.

Vacation Bible School is coming. The theme is about being Change Makers. VBS will be 6/21-23, 6:30-8:30pm (nightly with dinner), and then wrap up on Sunday, 6/25. There will be music, Bible trivia, art, evangelism, and drama. VBS is for the whole family. Registration is open now.

May is Mental Health Awareness. We need to break the stigma in the church. This week, we want to focus on strategies for managing mental health, such as self-care. Self-care is important for your mental health. Despite life’s stressors, there are many things that you can do to maintain positive mental health, including self-care. Mental health is essential to your overall health and quality of life. When you take care of yourself, your physical and emotional health improves; you become more resilient and can find ways to manage stress in a healthy and positive way. Taking care of yourself is an essential part of your mental health. What does self-care look like for you? It could exercising, walking, listening to music, reading a good book, spending time with friends, doing your favorite hobby, etc.

Next Sunday, I will not be here as I'll be in California helping Isaiah get settled for his summer internship. We will appreciate your prayers.

Mortgage Burning Ceremony (10.6.24)

Today is a day of celebration and gratitude as we come together to witness the burning of our church’s mortgage! This moment represents years of faith, commitment, and sacrificial giving from this congregation. It’s a testament to God’s faithfulness and the dedication of His people. What we are celebrating today is not just the end of a financial obligation, but the beginning of new possibilities for missions, outreach, and service in our community.   ---     Psalm 127:1 says, ‘Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.’   This building has been more than just bricks and mortar; it has been a spiritual home where so many lives have been touched by the gospel. We recognize that while we’ve paid off the mortgage, it is the Lord who has truly built this house, sustaining us through every season.   --- History of the Vision         Though this chapter is closing, the mission God has ...

My Hope Sunday, M:T Not a Competition, Prayer Gathering (Pastoral Emphasis for 10/13)

Today was My Hope Sunday ! We had several invited guests, and my message was from 1 Samuel 8:4-9 on "Looking for a Savior".  Israel wanted a king like the other nations who would “save” them. This is the very definition of a functional savior. A functional savior is anything or anyone a person looks to for ultimate hope, security, identity, or fulfillment in place of God. Whatever you look to to “save” you from your problems, fears, or insecurities is your functional savior. But all of our functional saviors cannot save us. Jesus is the Savior we really need!  Our greatest need in this life and the life to come is to have our sins forgiven by trusting in Jesus as our Lord and Savior! Today, my wife shared her My Hope Testimony .   (RSS Subscribers: click here to watch the video) Missions:Together’s "Not a Competition" is a powerful missions gathering designed to re-ignite your passion for missions on Saturday, November 2, hosted at The Summit Church in Apex.
