Prayer for Personal Holiness, Home Group Study Guide, Food Donations (Pastoral Emphasis for 3/22)

With our theme of Being a House of Prayer, we're going to have a pastoral prayer every Sunday. We'll have a different topic to pray for each month led by an elder. March's prayer topic is "Repentance & Personal Holiness". Today, Elder Sean Cherry read 1 Peter 1:13-16 and led us in praying for personal holiness.

I've provided a home group study guide that you can use individually or with your family to review and discuss today's sermon. If you don't have the study guide, you can download it here.

With us being confined to our homes, now is a good time for all of our members to make sure that you are registered in our church management software, Realm.  If you need help, please reach out to us at church.

Thanks to everyone who has donated food to help families at West Cary Middle School that are affected by the closing of schools. So far, we've been able to help five families (with 5-6 members each). We'll continue to take food donations until Friday, 3/27. Drop-off hours are Monday through Friday from 12-2 pm and 6-7 pm.

As a church body, we are fasting and praying during Lent. This week, 3/23-3/28, we're fasting from video games, cell phone use (except for necessary phone calls, work-related), or a favorite activity with a prayer focus on the lost and prodigal sons & daughters.

Dress Code, Spreading the Gospel to Japan, Skits & Pizza (Pastoral Emphasis from 7/26)

Thanks to all who came out to the Church Family Meeting. Our focus is reach the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Even though we don't have a formal dress code at church, I think we have an unspoken one. Our guest may perceive a dress code based on what they see on the stage from leadership. So in order to remove any barriers that might prevent some from visiting us or feeling comfortable in our service, the leadership will dress a little more casual. We will try this out until the end of the year and then evaluate. So don't be surprised when you see me not wearing a tie! I shared the following email that we got via our website to show that we are spreading the Gospel worldwide. To God be the glory! Greetings Mt. Zion Church Family...Today is July 27, 2009 and I would like to share the blessing that I have received from your church. I was talking to my very dear sister, soror, friend Sis Brandi Hancock and she and I were having a heart to heart. I told her that I was

One Life Saved

The Bible declares that all life is valuable. "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well" (Psalm 139:13-14). Here's the story of one life saved....
