Memorial Day, VBS starts, Speaking at Scott's Grove (Pastoral Emphasis from 5/30)

Memorial Day is the recognition of those who have died in service to this country. So as you enjoy a day off from work with food, friends, and family, please take some time to pray for those families who have lost loved ones.

Today is the last day to participate in our Sunday School survey. Please help us with your input. Take the survey online or at the Welcome Center.

VBS will be starting this week on Wednesday. Make sure you registered and come out for food, fellowship, and the Word.

I will be speaking at Scott's Grove Holiness Church (Hwy 55) for their Pastor's Aide Service on next Sunday, June 6th, at 4:00pm. Everyone is invited to attend.

My Hope Sunday, M:T Not a Competition, Prayer Gathering (Pastoral Emphasis for 10/13)

Today was My Hope Sunday ! We had several invited guests, and my message was from 1 Samuel 8:4-9 on "Looking for a Savior". Israel wanted a king like the other nations who would “save” them. This is the very definition of a functional savior. A functional savior is anything or anyone a person looks to for ultimate hope, security, identity, or fulfillment in place of God. Whatever you look to to “save” you from your problems, fears, or insecurities is your functional savior. But all of our functional saviors cannot save us. Jesus is the Savior we really need!
