Happy Mother's Day, VBS Registration, New Sermon Series (Pastoral Emphasis for 5/10)

Join us again on Wednesday at 7pm for week 6 of our Romans Bible Study series.  In preparation, please read Romans 10-11 as we'll be looking at the Doctrine of Justification.

High School Seniors: The J. A. Lewis Scholarship application packets are currently available from the church office.  Submission deadline is May 31, 2015.

Registration for VBS has started.  VBS will be on June 15 -19.  The cost is $20 per family, $15 per couple, and $10 single.  VBS will have something for the whole family.  Don't miss out!

For those who signed up as interested in ministry to India, we are looking to have a follow-up meeting with Global Hope India after a church service.  If I can confirm it with GHI, we may have it next Sunday. Stay tuned.

Happy Mothers Day to all moms!  This Mother's Day video from Paul David Tripp is specifically for single moms but also applies to all mothers and even all Christians.

Whether you are a single mom or not, we all live with limits (that God in His sovereignty has placed on us).  So even if you are a single mom, a mom who has lost children or aborted a baby, or a woman who desires to be a mother but it has not happened yet, please know that God has not turned His back on you. You have not been forsaken.  God's grace towards us is that He gives us a church family that should care for each other.  So admit your weaknesses and seek help.

One of the reasons we have Life Groups is to create an environment where people can admit weaknesses in a smaller context and get help through prayer and accountability.  Deaconess Peggy Credle shared a testimony about her Life Group called GROW (God Renewing Our Women).  Please check out other Life Groups and get plugged in.

Our next new sermon series will be called "Twisted" where we'll be looking at some of the biggest misused Bible verses such as "Judge not lest ye be judged", "speaking those things which be not as though they were", and my personal favorite, Jeremiah 29:11. This series begins on 5/24.

Dress Code, Spreading the Gospel to Japan, Skits & Pizza (Pastoral Emphasis from 7/26)

Thanks to all who came out to the Church Family Meeting. Our focus is reach the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Even though we don't have a formal dress code at church, I think we have an unspoken one. Our guest may perceive a dress code based on what they see on the stage from leadership. So in order to remove any barriers that might prevent some from visiting us or feeling comfortable in our service, the leadership will dress a little more casual. We will try this out until the end of the year and then evaluate. So don't be surprised when you see me not wearing a tie! I shared the following email that we got via our website to show that we are spreading the Gospel worldwide. To God be the glory! Greetings Mt. Zion Church Family...Today is July 27, 2009 and I would like to share the blessing that I have received from your church. I was talking to my very dear sister, soror, friend Sis Brandi Hancock and she and I were having a heart to heart. I told her that I was

One Life Saved

The Bible declares that all life is valuable. "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well" (Psalm 139:13-14). Here's the story of one life saved....
