Doctrine of Justification, "Twisted" Sermon Series, God's Call to Go (Pastoral Emphasis for 5/17)

In preparation for week 7 of our Romans Bible Study series, please review Romans 5-6, 11 as we'll be finishing up the Doctrine of Justification. Join us again on Wednesday at 7pm.

Next Sunday, we start a new sermon series called "Twisted" where we will look at some of the biggest misused Bible verses.

5/24 - First, we start with Matt. 7:1,"Judge not lest ye be judged"
5/31 - "speaking those things which be not as though they were"
6/07 - Malachi 3:10, "Bringing tithes & opening the windows of heaven"
6/21 – Prov. 29:18, "where there is no vision, the people perish"
6/28 - Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."
7/05 - "God will not put more on us than we can bear"

A few weeks ago, we had Global Hope India with us to talk about ministry to India. As believers, we are all called to fulfill the Great Commission of making disciples of all nations. Check out this video from Pastor JD Greear on God's Call to Go.

"The question is not whether you are called to go but where and how". Bro. Johnson was with us today to have a follow-up meeting right after church for those who signed up and all others who might be interested. Perhaps God is calling you to do a mission trip to India. David Platt said that "short-term missions is a catalyst for long-term discipleship".  After going on a short-term mission trip, you will come back changed with the realization that you can do some of the same things you did to evangelize and make disciples in another nation here at home.

So in order to remove any barriers that might prevent some from visiting us or feeling comfortable in our service, the leadership will dress a little more casual. We will try this out until the end of the year and then evaluate. So don't be surprised when you see me not wearing a tie! I shared the following email that we got via our website to show that we are spreading the Gospel worldwide. To God be the glory! Greetings Mt. Zion Church Family...Today is July 27, 2009 and I would like to share the blessing that I have received from your church. I was talking to my very dear sister, soror, friend Sis Brandi Hancock and she and I were having a heart to heart. I told her that I was

One Life Saved

The Bible declares that all life is valuable. "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well" (Psalm 139:13-14). Here's the story of one life saved....
