Lent, Warning about Scam Artist, Next FPU Class (Pastoral Emphasis for 3/9)

Lent has started and we're calling everyone to fast and pray. If you have not started, it's not too late to begin. You can do a total fast of all foods or a partial fast of a particular food or activity. Lent is 40 days between Ash Wednesday and Easter (not counting Sundays).

Warning to our church family: a scam artist has been showing up at the church at different occasions in the past month asking for money under false pretenses. If he returns in the next month and you are confronted by this individual (a tall black man, approximately in his early 40's) asking for money, please direct him to one of our Deacons.

In order to help us be good stewards over our finances, we offer Financial Peace University.

Sister Rasheeda Oliver preached her Initial Sermon.  Her text was the entire book of Haggai and her topic was "Get Your House in Order: Rebuild the Temple".

We will try this out until the end of the year and then evaluate. So don't be surprised when you see me not wearing a tie! I shared the following email that we got via our website to show that we are spreading the Gospel worldwide. To God be the glory! Greetings Mt. One Life Saved
