Mt Zion Youth in the News, Sharing Sermons, More Convoy of Hope details (Pastoral Emphasis from 3/29)

We're so proud of our own Braxton Payton for "standing out" with good manners and good dance moves. Check him out on this news report.

The Youth Contemporary Service held this afternoon at 4:00pm was a great success! All of the youth from both Mt. Zion and PCC did an awesome job singing, dancing, and reciting poetry. Elder Mike Smith of Phillipian Community Church of Raleigh gave a great word from Romans 12.

Pastor Larry Snead and Christ First Christian Fellowship Center's Music Ministry invite the Mt. Zion family to their Easter Musical, "Morning Glory," on next Sunday, April 5th at 6:00pm.

I got the following email that shows the power of sharing free audio CDs of sermons. So don't forget to order free CDs of sermons and share them with family and friends.
I had the privilege to be able to hear the sermon [Practical Atheist] on CD sent to my co-worker by her family. I must say if you love Jesus and want to serve Him in every way this sermon is for you and needs to be listened to often and then to share this message to others. I thank the pastor for being obedient to the call of the Spirit to speak the truth in love. From Hampton, Virginia

More Convoy of Hope details:

"Connection Volunteers" will basically help to 'connect' people to God (through prayer at the Convoy) and to churches (through follow-up with new believers).

This includes:
  • Prayer Warrior: doing 1-on-1 or 2-on-family unit prayer with people in the Prayer Tent
  • Prayer Warrior: doing intercessory / behind the scenes supporting prayer
  • Discipling / Follow-up with new believers
All Connection Volunteers are required to receive specific training before the event, so we can all serve our hurting neighbors properly and with love and grace.

TRAINING for CONNECTION VOLUNTEERS

All Connection Volunteers will be asked to attend one 90 minutes training session the week before the event - starting with one session on Sunday afternoon, April 19 and two sessions per day on Monday through Wednesday, April 20 - 22 -- hopefully at different churches through-out Raleigh. Specific times and locations to be announced soon.

GUEST SERVICES

We still need those Mt. Zion volunteers that signed up for Guest Services to please help with passing out flyers. There are many more flyers and a large area to canvas in getting the flyers out.

Mortgage Burning Ceremony (10.6.24)

Today is a day of celebration and gratitude as we come together to witness the burning of our church’s mortgage! This moment represents years of faith, commitment, and sacrificial giving from this congregation. It’s a testament to God’s faithfulness and the dedication of His people. What we are celebrating today is not just the end of a financial obligation, but the beginning of new possibilities for missions, outreach, and service in our community.   ---     Psalm 127:1 says, ‘Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.’   This building has been more than just bricks and mortar; it has been a spiritual home where so many lives have been touched by the gospel. We recognize that while we’ve paid off the mortgage, it is the Lord who has truly built this house, sustaining us through every season.   --- History of the Vision         Though this chapter is closing, the mission God has called us to continues. Without the burden o

My Hope Sunday, M:T Not a Competition, Prayer Gathering (Pastoral Emphasis for 10/13)

Today was My Hope Sunday ! We had several invited guests, and my message was from 1 Samuel 8:4-9 on "Looking for a Savior".  Israel wanted a king like the other nations who would “save” them. This is the very definition of a functional savior. A functional savior is anything or anyone a person looks to for ultimate hope, security, identity, or fulfillment in place of God. Whatever you look to to “save” you from your problems, fears, or insecurities is your functional savior. But all of our functional saviors cannot save us. Jesus is the Savior we really need!  Our greatest need in this life and the life to come is to have our sins forgiven by trusting in Jesus as our Lord and Savior! Today, my wife shared her My Hope Testimony .   (RSS Subscribers: click here to watch the video) Missions:Together’s "Not a Competition" is a powerful missions gathering designed to re-ignite your passion for missions on Saturday, November 2, hosted at The Summit Church in Apex. One Life Saved

The Bible declares that all life is valuable. "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well" (Psalm 139:13-14). Here's the story of one life saved....
