Youth Revival, Convoy of Hope Details (Pastoral Emphasis from 3/22)

This year's Youth revival is already in full effect this week. So far, one teen has accepted Christ and many have came forward for prayer and deliverance. Praise God!!! The Youth Ministry will also have a fellowship activity on Saturday. And we'll wrap everything up with our Youth Contemporary service on this Sunday afternoon at 4pm.

Convoy of Hope: Sunday was the last chance to volunteer! I hope you signed up to serve. You have the opportunity to help in the areas of media relations, food services, kid's zone, groceries, guest services, and connections (includes the prayer tent).

Here are some important details...

Guest Services Responsibility is: (1) Pre-outreach Guest Promotion and (2) day-of-outreach Guest Services.

(1) Guest promotion involves the distribution of promotional handbills and posters through community distribution locations, door-to-door invitations, and public school distribution.

(2) Day-of-outreach Guest Services is responsible to provide guests with helpful information at the welcome area, distribute food coupons, count the number of guests entering the site, and greet guests in different areas of service.

My challenge is for those that say they need to exercise but a reason always gets in the way and exercise never gets done. The call is for those who want to help walk the 1-1/2 to 3 mile radius of the event location, and hand out the flyers next Saturday as well as each Saturday from now until April 18th. They will meet at Mt. Pleasant, 1424 Sawyer Road, Raleigh 27601 between 9:30 and 9:45 so they can get teams assembled and get to the designated locations. Flyers are distributed from 10 a.m. – 12 or 1 p.m. If anyone wants to go but doesn't want to drive, please contact Minister Amekuedi to work out carpooling.

Connections: Those who volunteer for this area will be responsible for assisting with after-event follow-up, helping those that accept Christ during the event to be connected with a local church after the event. There will be training for this area, but no information on that yet. The Prayer Tent will somehow work in conjunction with Connections.

Responding to the Flooding, Christmas in July Food Drive, New Sermon Series (Pastoral Emphasis for 7/13)

Responding to the Flooding All of us are painfully aware of the devastating flooding that struck our nation recently. As of Friday evening, the confirmed death toll in Texas has risen to 129, with at least 150 individuals still missing across the state. Our hearts are heavy, and we grieve for the lives lost and the families enduring unimaginable pain. One of the first things people tend to do is look for someone to blame. Was it the fault of the warning system not being early enough? Was it the fault of the government (state and federal)? Was it the fault of God? If God is so good, why do we suffer with natural disasters like flooding that takes the lives of seemingly innocent people like young children? The reality is that the fault lies with us. Humanity decided to rebel against the Creator God, thereby, ushering in sin and the fall from God's perfect creation. Natural disasters happen because we live in a fallen world ravaged by sin. Natural disasters like these floods are trag...
