Happy Easter, Resuming Joshua Series (Pastoral Emphasis for 3/31)

Happy Easter ! It is the resurrection of Jesus Christ that sets Christianity apart from all other world religions. We believe that Jesus, the Son of God, died for our sins, was buried, and rose to life again "on the first day of the week, very early in the morning. Next Sunday, we are back in the book of Joshua with our sermon series, “ From Promise to Possession ”. Read chapter 5. Since we're had Communion today, we will not be having Communion next Sunday.

VBS Planning, Easter, Easter Food Drive & Events, Corral Riding Family in Need (Pastoral Emphasis for 3/17)

Do you have gifts of teaching, hospitality, service, administration, leadership, exhortation? Those gifts and more are needed to assist with VBS 2024 . Come to the VBS Planning Committee Meeting directly after service today to find out more about how to get involved. Mt. Zion is partnering with Dorcas Ministries for their first annual Easter Food Drive ! We want to help fill their shelves so we can help serve and bless our community. The plan is to collect donations in March and focus on what is most needed in the pantry each week.    As we come to the final couple of weeks of Lent, don't forget that we're fasting and praying specifically for how to establish a relationship and outreach to our neighbors in Northwoods Crossing. Missions: Triangle event, EQUIP Conference, Easter Food Drive (Pastoral Emphasis for 3/10)

One of our initiatives for this year that ties into our theme of Advancing the Kingdom of God is to participate in Missions: Triangle events. So I want to encourage you to attend the upcoming event hosted at The Summit Church in Apex . This event will discuss how to share the gospel across cultures through hospitality.    On Friday & Saturday, we're having our EQUIP Conference . This schedule is 7- 9pm on Friday and 9am-12pm on Saturday. This conference is geared towards equipping people for evangelism and discipleship. This year's focus will be Build on the Rock: Submission. There will be a message, panels, Q&A, book giveaways, and breakouts (Men, Women, Married, and Singles including youth). March Birthdays & Anniversaries, VBS Planning, My Hope Sunday (Pastoral Emphasis for 3/3)

I preached on Joshua 3-4 today. Now we'll be taking a break from Joshua until April.  We welcome Sis. Olivia Mudd who recently joined on Christian Experience  Happy Birthday to our March babies...  Happy Anniversary to our March couples...  Congrats to Lance and Pamela Armour who got married yesterday. They will join the March Anniversaries. Our March Senior Birthday Surprise goes to Sis. Sarah Payne. We are looking for Change Makers to assist with VBS 2024 . We are forming committees for Teaching (Adult/Youth/Children), Hospitality Resources (Such as connections for food or music), Teams Coordinator (Coordinating with other ministries), Media, Greeters, Decor, Clean-up Crew, and Skits. Do you have strengths in any of these areas and would like to join a committee to help with planning? Spruce Up, My Hope Sunday & Testimony (Pastoral Emphasis for 2/25)

We welcome our latest “new” member who is not really because he grew up in this church but he has completed NMO and Member Interview as an adult: Isaiah Harris Yesterday, we had a very successful Spruce UP . Here are the results:  29 members participated (11 members were in leadership) Most hours worked: 4 hours 34 minutes  Least hours worked: 31 minutes  Breakdown by Zones Zone 1 - 7 members  Zone 2 - 11 members  Zone 3 - 5 members  Zone 4 - 6  Total time worked: 102 hours 3 minutes  We cleaned the ENTIRE church. Prayer Rally, My Hope Sunday, Bible Bowl II (Pastoral Emphasis for 2/18)

Welcome to our newest member who has completed New Members Orientation and membership interview: Roddric Scott  Our next Church-Wide Prayer Rally is Tuesday, 2/20, from 7 to 8pm. Our Image Bearers Men's Ministry will be hosting. Our prayer focus will be “Living with a Sense of Urgency!” from 1 Peter 4:7-11 . Everyone is invited to participate. You can also submit your prayer requests online or in the prayer request box (at the back of the sanctuary).  My Hope Sunday will be March 10. All of our members are asked to commit to inviting at least one unbeliever or unchurched person to join us at church on My Hope Sunday. During that service, we will share the hope we have in Jesus Christ. Start praying about who you will invite to that service. EQUIP Conference, Prayer Requests for Prisoners, Ash Wednesday (Pastoral Emphasis for 2/11)

We welcomed our newest member who completed NMO & his membership interview: David Turner Registration is now open for the upcoming EQUIP Conference on March 15 and 16 . Registration closes on 3/10. This year's focus will be Build on the Rock: Submission . There will be breakouts this year (Men, Women, Married, Single (including youth)).  Sis. Karen Gray is requesting that the church sign-up to pray for the women at a correctional institution as part of her service with the Kairos Prison Ministry during the weekend of March 7, 8, 9, and 10. Please stop by the Welcome Center or contact Sis. Gray directly to sign-up for a day to pray. Happy Birthday to our February babies... Our February Senior Birthday Surprise goes to Sis. Barbara Smith.   Don't forget that every second Sunday is Invite Your One Sunday . People are more willing to come to church if they are invited by someone they know. So who is your one that you're inviting to join us for church next Sunday?   All men are invited to come out to our Image Bearer sessions every second Saturday of the month from 8 to 9:30 am for fellowship, discussion, and discipleship. We will be meeting this Saturday, 2/10.  WHAT IF I TOLD YOU...there will be breakfast?

Singles First Saturdays, 2024 Key Ministry Initiatives, Biblical Counseling Certification (Pastoral Emphasis for 1/28)

On Saturday, 2/3, the Singles Ministry will have a First Saturday event from 4 to 7pm on the theme “Be the Light”. Please RSVP. We had our first Church Family Meeting of the year after the service. We looked back and looked forward. Here are the key initiatives we have for this year. Here's the question that I want us to wrestle with: “If our church closed tomorrow, would the neighborhood care?” If we're going to advance the kingdom, let's start with those right around us. So my challenge to the entire congregation is to seek God on how to engage our neighbors in the local community around the church. It may start with building a relationship. After praying, please submit any ideas to the outreach email address. For the expansion of our Counseling Ministry, we are implementing a Biblical Counseling Certification program. Church Family Meeting, T2 TEA, Giving Statements (Pastoral Emphasis for 1/21)

  Our first Church Family Meeting of the year will be next Sunday right after the service. All members are asked to attend. We'll be reviewing what God accomplished through us last year and looking forward to what God will do this year. We'll look at goals and objectives for how we can Advance the Kingdom of God.  Ladies, on Saturday, 1/27, the Titus 2 Women’s Ministry will be hosting a TEA at 9 am discussing Women Advancing the Kingdom. The last day to register is tomorrow. Don't forget to stop by the Welcome Center to pick up your 2023 member giving statements .

Prayer Requests, MLK Weekend, Church-Wide Prayer Rally (Pastoral Emphasis for 1/14)

We have several members who are dealing with health problems. So please keep them in your prayers : Deaconess Erica Wilson (health challenges)  Minister Gerald Vinson (health problems)  Bro. Jadon Roberts (abdominal pain)  Sis. Alicia Welcher (hospitalized)  Bro. Joe Hancock (surgery scheduled for Wednesday). He has to fast from Monday to Wednesday. So we're calling all men to fast with Bro. Hancock and pray for the success of the surgery and his healing . Men, let's fast according to the way the Lord is leading you and your own health needs (one meal a day, certain type of food, particular kind of activity, etc.).  We welcome our newest member who completed NMO and his membership interview: Bro. Ladies, the next W.I.S.E (Women Intentionally Seeking and Edifying) Bible Study Series will be the study called 'When you Pray': A Study of Six Prayers in the Bible . New Baby, NYE Service, Merry Christmas (Pastoral Emphasis for 12/24)

Congrats to the Donnell and Jenae Fordham on the birth of their son Wade Emanuel on 12/6. Wade was born 6 lbs, 12 oz, and 19 inches long.   For New Year's Eve , we will have our normal morning service at 10am and then come back at 11pm for our NYE service. Normally, our NYE service starts at 10pm but this year we're keeping it to just one hour. Join us as we cross over into the New Year with praise, the preached word, and prayer.  Merry Christmas to everyone. No matter what highs or lows Christmas might bring to you this year, remember to keep Jesus Christ as the center.  

2024 Church Theme, NYE Service, A Village Gathering (Pastoral Emphasis for 12/17)

Our Church Theme for 2024 is “ Advancing the Kingdom of God ”. Jesus said that He would build His church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Our focus will be to get equipped on how we as individuals and the church participate in Jesus' work to advance God's Kingdom.    There will be No Bible Study for the next two weeks. We will resume on 1/3. We will be studying the Torah or Pentateuch (first five books) all of next year. So we start in Genesis in January. Our New Year’s Eve Service will start at 11pm. We will have our normal service that morning and then come back at 11pm for an hour service to worship in the New Year.  Everyone is invited to “ A Village Gathering ” which is a Community Meal and Interactive Learning Experience on Policy Making and the Racial Wealth Gap on January 14. Allen Lewis Memorial Scholarship .  Every 2nd Saturday of the month. Mt. Zion partners with Trinity Park Church to serve the local community. The Raleigh Dream Center provides food for distribution. Church-Wide Prayer, Happy Thanksgiving, Tayon for Apex (Pastoral Emphasis for 11/19)

Please pray for the following needs in our church family: Sister Kim Roberts’ father who is currently in the ICU unit in NY recovering from pancreatic surgery.  Sis. Mary Bailey, whose brother has passed away  Deacons Blango and Hardaway both had surgical procedures last week. Pray for their recovery.  Bro. John Thorne will have surgery on his back on 12/11. This will be a critical surgery necessary for him to walk, and it will be near his spine.    We welcome Bro. Isiah Smith who came forward last week to trust in Christ as his personal Savior, get baptized, and join the church.   Please join the Deaconess Ministry for our last Church-Wide Prayer Rally of the year on Tuesday, 11/21, at 7 pm. The focus will be healing and thanksgiving.
