VBS Planning, Easter, Easter Food Drive & Events, Corral Riding Family in Need (Pastoral Emphasis for 3/17)

Do you have gifts of teaching, hospitality, service, administration, leadership, exhortation? Those gifts and more are needed to assist with VBS 2024. Come to the VBS Planning Committee Meeting directly after service today to find out more about how to get involved.

Mt. Zion is partnering with Dorcas Ministries for their first annual Easter Food Drive! We want to help fill their shelves so we can help serve and bless our community. The plan is to collect donations in March and focus on what is most needed in the pantry each week.

As we come to the final couple of weeks of Lent, don't forget that we're fasting and praying specifically for how to establish a relationship and outreach to our neighbors in Northwoods Crossing. If God gives you any ideas, please email them to outreach AT mtzioncary.org.

Everyone is invited to our Easter Weekend events.  Join us for our Good Friday service on 3/29 from 6:30-7:30pm. Bring the children out to our Easter Egg Hunt on 3/30 at 1pm.  On 3/31, we'll have Sunrise Easter service at 6am and we'll celebrate Communion. That will be our ONLY service (no 10am service).

We have an opportunity to show love in action through our missional relationship with Corral Riding. One of the families, the Burrell family, suffered a house fire and lost everything but their lives were preserved. They have many needs which you can sign up to donate. The Signup Genius will be open for another week or so. Please contact Deaconess Rhonda Spivey for any questions. A week later after the fire, the family lost a daughter by suicide. There's a GoFundMe available to help towards their funeral costs.

Please pray for Anita and I as we're traveling to Japan this week for an anniversary trip as well as visit with Abigail. We'll be back on Good Friday

Mortgage Burning Ceremony (10.6.24)

Today is a day of celebration and gratitude as we come together to witness the burning of our church’s mortgage! This moment represents years of faith, commitment, and sacrificial giving from this congregation. It’s a testament to God’s faithfulness and the dedication of His people. What we are celebrating today is not just the end of a financial obligation, but the beginning of new possibilities for missions, outreach, and service in our community.   ---     Psalm 127:1 says, ‘Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.’   This building has been more than just bricks and mortar; it has been a spiritual home where so many lives have been touched by the gospel. We recognize that while we’ve paid off the mortgage, it is the Lord who has truly built this house, sustaining us through every season.   --- History of the Vision         Though this chapter is closing, the mission God has ...

My Hope Sunday, M:T Not a Competition, Prayer Gathering (Pastoral Emphasis for 10/13)

Today was My Hope Sunday ! We had several invited guests, and my message was from 1 Samuel 8:4-9 on "Looking for a Savior".  Israel wanted a king like the other nations who would “save” them. This is the very definition of a functional savior. A functional savior is anything or anyone a person looks to for ultimate hope, security, identity, or fulfillment in place of God. Whatever you look to to “save” you from your problems, fears, or insecurities is your functional savior. But all of our functional saviors cannot save us. Jesus is the Savior we really need!  Our greatest need in this life and the life to come is to have our sins forgiven by trusting in Jesus as our Lord and Savior! Today, my wife shared her My Hope Testimony .   (RSS Subscribers: click here to watch the video) Missions:Together’s "Not a Competition" is a powerful missions gathering designed to re-ignite your passion for missions on Saturday, November 2, hosted at The Summit Church in Apex.
