Theological Seminar, Fall Church Clean-Up, Raleigh Area Concerts of Prayer (Pastoral Emphasis for 9/20)

Looking for WNBS Teachers

Do you know what your spiritual gifts are?

We've encouraged everyone to take a spiritual gifts survey. If you haven't taken one yet, this is a great time to discover how God has uniquely gifted you for ministry.

If teaching is one of your spiritual gifts, Christian Education has an opportunity for you to put that gift into practice!

Christian Education is looking for additional Wednesday Night Bible Study (WNBS) teachers for 2027. Teaching God's Word is both a privilege and a responsibility, and we want to equip those who are called and gifted to serve in this way.

If you're interested, please register using the QR code and plan to attend the Teacher Workshop on November 14.

You may have a gift that God wants to use to help someone else grow in their understanding of His Word. Don't let that gift sit on the sidelines!

Living Beyond Offense: Our Next Theological Seminar

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 3, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, because you do not want to miss our next Theological Seminar:

We're excited to welcome Yana Jenay Conner, writer and Bible teacher, who will lead us as we explore the biblical path from offense to forgiveness, freedom, and spiritual maturity.

Let's be honest—offense and conflict are a part of life. But as followers of Christ, we are called to respond differently. This workshop is designed to give us biblical tools to navigate hurt, extend forgiveness, and pursue healthy, Christ-centered relationships.

So don't just hear about it—be in the room!

Come expecting to learn, grow, and be challenged by God's Word. Register today! This is one you truly don't want to miss!

Fall Church Clean-Up

It's time again for us to clean God's house!

Come out Saturday, September 26, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM for our Fall Church Clean-Up.

All are invited to volunteer, and you can serve for as much time as you're able. Whether you can stay for the entire morning or only have an hour to give, your help will make a difference.

Let's come together and take care of the place God has entrusted to us!

Raleigh Area Concerts of Prayer

Mt. Zion will once again participate in the Raleigh Area Concerts of Prayer on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 7:00–9:00 PM at Triangle Cinemas in Raleigh.

This is an opportunity for believers from across the Raleigh area to come together in corporate prayer. If you plan to attend, registration is required.

Please contact Sandra Broadwater by September 30, or sign up next Sunday, September 27, after service.

Let's join believers throughout our area as we seek God together in prayer.

Preaching Engagement

Finally, I want to ask for your prayers for next weekend.  Anita and I will be traveling to Evansville, Indiana, to preach at Pastor Keith Patterson's first anniversary at Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

We are grateful for the opportunity to fellowship with Pastor Patterson and the Zion Missionary Baptist Church family. Please pray for safe travel, for God's Word to go forth with power and clarity, and that the Lord would be glorified through our time together.

Whether you completed high school, earned a college degree, completed graduate studies, or achieved another educational milestone, we rejoice with you and thank God for your hard work and perseverance. We are also grateful for the impact of the Delta Academy and GEM programs , which have been meeting at Mt. Zion. We appreciate the investment these programs make in developing and encouraging young people, and we thank Ms. Daniel and Ms. Owens for their leadership and partnership. J.
