Discover Black American Sign Language

Did you know there is a form of sign language known as Black American Sign Language (BASL)?

Our Deaf Ministry is hosting a special educational event on Saturday, September 19, from 9:30–11:30 AM to help our Mt. Zion family and guests learn more about the history of Black American Sign Language.

BASL developed in the context of racial segregation in schools serving the Deaf community, resulting in a unique linguistic tradition and cultural history.

We will have a guest speaker from Wilson joining us, and we would love for our Mt. Zion family to come out and support this important event.

Come learn something new, broaden your understanding, and celebrate the richness of our church and the Deaf community!

Image Bearers Breakfast

Men, if you weren't able to attend our 2026 Men's Retreat, we want you to join us for our next Image Bearers Breakfast on Saturday, September 12 at 8:00 AM.

We'll have a special time of fellowship and recap the sessions and lessons from the retreat.

This is a great opportunity to connect with other men, hear what you missed, and continue growing together as men who desire to reflect Christ in our homes, church, and community.

Men's Ministry & Male Choir Open House

Men, you're also invited to our Men's Ministry and Male Choir Open House on Thursday, September 10 at 6:00 PM.

We'll share our plans for 2027, including our focus on strengthening the discipleship of our men and increasing our engagement with our male youth. Light refreshments will be provided.

Come hear what's ahead, share your ideas, and discover how you can be part of what God is doing through our men's ministries.

Happy Labor Day!

As we celebrate Labor Day weekend, we pray that you have a safe, restful, and blessed holiday with family and friends.

Let's take a moment to thank God for the ability to work, serve, provide, and contribute to our families, church, and communities. May we remember that whatever we do, we are ultimately called to "work heartily, as for the Lord" (Colossians 3:23).

Have a blessed Labor Day weekend, Mt. Zion!
