Men's Ministry Kick-Off, Titus 2 T.E.A., EQUIP Conference Recap (Pastoral Emphasis for 3/20)

I hope everyone's fasting and prayer during Lent is going well. Some have asked me why we don't have to fast on Sundays. From the very earliest days, the church always considered that since Sunday is the day of Jesus' resurrection it is a day of feasting not fasting. Now it doesn't mean that you have to break your fast on Sundays. For some of you, it might be better that you continue fasting if it will make it harder to resume your fast on Monday.

Men, the Men's Ministry called STM (Spiritually Thinking Men) will have its kick-off meeting on Friday, 3/25 at 6pm. It's going to be a great time of food (fish dinner), fellowship, and discussion of the ministry. Bring your lawn chairs for we'll be meeting outside. All men are invited to attend.

Women, you have a Titus 2 T.E.A. On Saturday, 3/26 at 9am. It will be a time of Teaching, Encouraging, and Affirming. All ladies are invited to attend.

Thanks to all who attended the EQUIP Conference. We praise God for a wonderful conference.

We had a lot of great questions during the conference which I know we were not able to get to them all. But unlike other conferences where you don't know the speakers and they leave to go home, we are all here. All of the speakers are available to answer any questions you may have. Even though the Equip conference is over, the equipping continues.

Responding to the Flooding, Christmas in July Food Drive, New Sermon Series (Pastoral Emphasis for 7/13)

Responding to the Flooding All of us are painfully aware of the devastating flooding that struck our nation recently. As of Friday evening, the confirmed death toll in Texas has risen to 129, with at least 150 individuals still missing across the state. Our hearts are heavy, and we grieve for the lives lost and the families enduring unimaginable pain. One of the first things people tend to do is look for someone to blame. Was it the fault of the warning system not being early enough? Was it the fault of the government (state and federal)? Was it the fault of God? If God is so good, why do we suffer with natural disasters like flooding that takes the lives of seemingly innocent people like young children? The reality is that the fault lies with us. Humanity decided to rebel against the Creator God, thereby, ushering in sin and the fall from God's perfect creation. Natural disasters happen because we live in a fallen world ravaged by sin. Natural disasters like these floods are trag...
