April's Prayer Topic, Resurrection Weekend, Covid-19 Resources (Pastoral Emphasis for 4/5)

With our theme of Being a House of Prayer, we're going to have a pastoral prayer every Sunday. We'll have a different topic to pray for each month led by an elder. April's prayer topic is "the lost". Today, Elder Wayne Bullock read Psalm 23 and led us in prayer for the lost.

I've provided a home group study guide that you can use individually or with your family to review and discuss today's sermon. If you don't have the study guide, you can download it here.

On Friday, we'll have a Good Friday service at 6:30pm on Zion Live where we will remember the death of our Lord and Savior and then on Sunday, we'll celebrate the Resurrection at our Sunrise Easter service at 7 am. We also celebrate the Lord's Supper. We're asking members to stop by the church to pick up communion kits on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-7 pm and Saturdays from 10 am - 12 pm. As an alternative, you can use bread like tortilla and wine or grape juice.

As a church body, we are fasting and praying during Lent.  This last week, 4/6-4/11, we're fasting from Social Media, TV, or Streaming Services with a prayer focus on praising God for the resurrection, Easter Sunday, and asking God to help us bridle our tongues.

We now have a COVID-19 page on our website for everyone to stay up-to-date with community information concerning donations and free food, along with methods to stay connected with Mt. Zion.

Dress Code, Spreading the Gospel to Japan, Skits & Pizza (Pastoral Emphasis from 7/26)

Thanks to all who came out to the Church Family Meeting. Our focus is reach the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Even though we don't have a formal dress code at church, I think we have an unspoken one. Our guest may perceive a dress code based on what they see on the stage from leadership. So in order to remove any barriers that might prevent some from visiting us or feeling comfortable in our service, the leadership will dress a little more casual. We will try this out until the end of the year and then evaluate. So don't be surprised when you see me not wearing a tie! I shared the following email that we got via our website to show that we are spreading the Gospel worldwide. To God be the glory! Greetings Mt. Zion Church Family...Today is July 27, 2009 and I would like to share the blessing that I have received from your church. I was talking to my very dear sister, soror, friend Sis Brandi Hancock and she and I were having a heart to heart. I told her that I was

One Life Saved

The Bible declares that all life is valuable. "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well" (Psalm 139:13-14). Here's the story of one life saved....
