Prayer for Marriages, Church-Wide Prayer Rally, Theological Seminar on Prayer (Pastoral Emphasis on 1/9)

With our theme of Being a House of Prayer, we're having a Pastoral Prayer every Sunday. We'll have a different topic to pray about each month led by an elder. February's prayer topic is "Family". Today, Elder Bullock read Ephesians 5:22-33 and prayed for marriages.

Our next church-wide prayer rally will be on Tuesday, 2/18, from 7 to 8pm. And we'll be fasting that day.

We know that prayer is important but we all struggle with it. Many of us have experienced disappointment when praying on our own or with others. The problem is that many of us don’t know how to pray biblically. Join us for our upcoming FREE Theological Seminar on Saturday, February 22nd at 9:00 am where I will be teaching biblical principles and patterns for how to experience life-giving prayer times. My Hope Sunday, M:T Not a Competition, Prayer Gathering (Pastoral Emphasis for 10/13)

Today was My Hope Sunday ! We had several invited guests, and my message was from 1 Samuel 8:4-9 on "Looking for a Savior". Israel wanted a king like the other nations who would “save” them. This is the very definition of a functional savior. A functional savior is anything or anyone a person looks to for ultimate hope, security, identity, or fulfillment in place of God. Whatever you look to to “save” you from your problems, fears, or insecurities is your functional savior. But all of our functional saviors cannot save us. Jesus is the Savior we really need!
