"Not guilty", 5 Love Languages Seminar, My Hope Commitment Cards (Pastoral Emphasis for 2/26)

God showed Himself to be a mighty deliverer this past week!  Bro. Derrick Wiggins received a "not guilty" verdict at his trial.  He faced 27 years in federal prison but God showed mercy!  Derrick, his mom, Minister Rasheeda, and even his lawyer gave their testimonies about how the odds were really stacked against Derrick but God made the final ruling!!  We truly had a glorious time praising God.

Please pray for Elder Wayne Bullock who lost his brother suddenly last week. The Homegoing Service will take place in Illinois on Thursday.

Deacon Robert Hunter who was admitted to Rex Hospital on Saturday was released on Sunday.  All tests were negative so we praise God for that.

Congrats to Nicole and Caesar Boone on the birth of their daughter, Amia Renee Boone on Feb 23rd. She weighed 7 lbs and 2 oz is 21 inches long.

Join us again on Wednesday at 7pm for our Bible Study series called the Journey. This Wednesday, we'll look at Jesus calling His disciples. Christ meets us where we are and transforms us as we follow Him.

Please join our couples’ life group on Saturday, March 18th, at 10:00am for a Couples Seminar on The 5 Love Languages.  Registration begins today.  Contact Deacon Henri or Deaconess Rhonda Spivey for additional details.

We are having MyHope Outreach Sunday where all of our members are asked to commit to inviting at least one unbeliever or unchurched person to join us at church on 3/12. During that service, we will share the hope we have in Jesus Christ.  We will also have a Food Truck Rodeo after service so we can purchase lunch and fellowship with our guests.  Next Sunday (3/5), we'll be collecting your commitment cards with the names of those you are inviting so we can pray for these individuals.

Bro. Joe Farrow gave his testimony about how he had surgery for prostrate cancer and it was successful.  He admitted how he would not tell others about issues he was facing because he was ashamed but now he's grown from 'milk' to 'meat' and will share with his church family about his life.

Dress Code, Spreading the Gospel to Japan, Skits & Pizza (Pastoral Emphasis from 7/26)

Thanks to all who came out to the Church Family Meeting. Our focus is reach the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Even though we don't have a formal dress code at church, I think we have an unspoken one. Our guest may perceive a dress code based on what they see on the stage from leadership. So in order to remove any barriers that might prevent some from visiting us or feeling comfortable in our service, the leadership will dress a little more casual. We will try this out until the end of the year and then evaluate. So don't be surprised when you see me not wearing a tie! I shared the following email that we got via our website to show that we are spreading the Gospel worldwide. To God be the glory! Greetings Mt. Zion Church Family...Today is July 27, 2009 and I would like to share the blessing that I have received from your church. I was talking to my very dear sister, soror, friend Sis Brandi Hancock and she and I were having a heart to heart. I told her that I was

One Life Saved

The Bible declares that all life is valuable. "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well" (Psalm 139:13-14). Here's the story of one life saved....
