Preached at Sovereign Grace, Health Fair, Church Family Meeting (Pastoral Emphasis for 1/15)

I missed worshiping with my Mt. Zion family today as I was worshiping and preached at Sovereign Grace Church of Apex.  Thanks for all who prayed for me.  It was greatly appreciated. I preached on the topic "For I Am Not Ashamed of the Gospel" from Romans 1:16-17 and it was well received by the church.  It was also a blessing for my family and I to worship with another congregation of people who are different than us.  There is diversity in the Gospel and the Kingdom of God so we must embrace it and not just tolerate it.

In my absence, Elder Wayne Bullock gave the pastoral emphasis.  Here are some items he mentioned.

Zone 1 members ministered at Brookdale Assisted Living this afternoon at 2pm. The Male Choir rendered a mini-concert. Thanks to all that attended.


Join us again on Wednesday at 7pm for our Bible Study series called the Journey. This Wednesday, we'll look at the meaning and importance of baptism. Mt. Zion is partnering with the Western Wake Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta and the XI Mu Mu Chapter of Omega Psi Pi for the Annual Health Fair on Saturday, January 28th, at 9:00am. Dental appointments are available the day of the event. Please contact Deaconess Tracy Dunn to schedule an appointment or to volunteer the day of the event.

Mark your calendar for our first Church Family Meeting of the year on Sunday, January 29th, right after the church service.

Responding to the Flooding All of us are painfully aware of the devastating flooding that struck our nation recently. As of Friday evening, the confirmed death toll in Texas has risen to 129, with at least 150 individuals still missing across the state. Our hearts are heavy, and we grieve for the lives lost and the families enduring unimaginable pain. One of the first things people tend to do is look for someone to blame. A Joyful Announcement: Welcome Baby Eliana! We are thrilled to celebrate the birth of Eliana Corena Thompson , daughter of Lachonya and Robert Thompson.
