Cary Unity Walk, Seeing Jesus in the Prophets, CFCFC Sweethearts Gala (Pastoral Emphasis for 10/30)

Thank you all for your generous donations for our Supply Drive to help families who have been impacted by the flooding in Eastern NC. Let's keep the donations coming. And thanks for the donations to the Simply Suits Drive as well. Fathers Forever have picked up a full rack of suits so we have room for more. They also have need of more dress shirts. Both drives are scheduled to end on 11/12.

Speaking of 11/12, on that day, there will be a Unity Walk in Cary.  We want to have a good group from Mt. Zion participating.  We're asking everyone to wear their Mt. Zion t-shirts (150th anniversary or this year's theme). There is a $15 registration fee which will go to benefit two non-profit organizations, The 200 Club of Wake County and Read & Feed, that serve many needs in our community.  Even if you cannot pay the registration fee, they will not refuse you from participating. Go here to get more details and register.

We have a new Bible Study Series starting on 11/2. In keeping with our theme, "Seeing Jesus in the Old Testament", we will look at "Seeing Jesus in the Prophets".  Join us and bring a friend.

Couples: CFCFC is hosting a Sweethearts Gala on February 11th at Holiday Inn Downtown Raleigh. The cost is $100 per couple, which includes buffet dinner, guest speaker and keepsake photo. Monies are due by Nov. 30th. They are in the final stages of planning and, for accuracy purposes, need to obtain an estimate on the number of couples that plan to attend the gala. If you have not responded to Deaconess Spivey, you can get a registration form at the Welcome Center with contact information included.

Thanks to all the members that attended our church family meeting right after the service today. Elder Wayne Bullock was re-elected to another 5-year term on the church's board of directors. We also addressed some church discipline matters.  Remember that the goal of church discipline is to guard and preserve the honor of God, protect the purity of the church, and restore the wandering member to the Lord.

Dress Code, Spreading the Gospel to Japan, Skits & Pizza (Pastoral Emphasis from 7/26)

Thanks to all who came out to the Church Family Meeting. Our focus is reach the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Even though we don't have a formal dress code at church, I think we have an unspoken one. Our guest may perceive a dress code based on what they see on the stage from leadership. So in order to remove any barriers that might prevent some from visiting us or feeling comfortable in our service, the leadership will dress a little more casual. We will try this out until the end of the year and then evaluate. So don't be surprised when you see me not wearing a tie! I shared the following email that we got via our website to show that we are spreading the Gospel worldwide. To God be the glory! Greetings Mt. Zion Church Family...Today is July 27, 2009 and I would like to share the blessing that I have received from your church. I was talking to my very dear sister, soror, friend Sis Brandi Hancock and she and I were having a heart to heart. I told her that I was

One Life Saved

The Bible declares that all life is valuable. "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well" (Psalm 139:13-14). Here's the story of one life saved....
