Elder-led Prayer, Church Family Meeting, Ordination Service (Pastoral Emphasis for 1/24)

Today we didn't have church due to winter weather (icy road conditions) but I decided to broadcast on Periscope to have a little church online and preach a sermon entitled "The Way Up Is Down" from Mark 10:35-45.  You can watch the replay here

Our next Elder-led Prayer will be held on Tuesday, January 26th, from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. Everyone is invited to join us as we focus on specific prayer needs. If you are not able to attend, you can but submit your prayer requests online.

Join us again this Wednesday at 7:00pm for our current Bible Study series, "The Promised One: Seeing Jesus in Genesis". This week, we'll look at seeing Jesus in the Flood (Genesis 6-9).

Don't forget to fill out the police survey that was given out. If you didn't get a survey we have extras available at the Welcome Center. The survey is going to be used by a group of pastors and Cary PD that I'm a part of that's working to improve relationship between the police and the African-American community.

We were suppose to start our new sermon series, Twisted Too, today but we'll hold off until next Sunday. All are welcome to join us as we'll be looking at some more of the most misused Scriptures. Here are the updated schedule for the series:
  • 1/31 – Habakkuk 2:2-3: “Write the vision, make it plain”
  • 2/07 – John 14:13-14: “Ask for anything in my Name”
  • 2/14 – Isaiah 53:5: “By His stripes, we are healed”
  • 2/21 – Prov. 22:6: “Train up a child in the way he should go”
  • 2/28 – Rev. 3:20: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock”
Our first Church Family Meeting for the year is scheduled for Sunday, January 31st, following the church service. All members are asked to attend.

Everyone is invited to join us for our Ordination Service on Sunday, January 31st, at 4:00pm. Sean Cherry will be ordained as an elder; Tim Thompson, Henri Spivey, and Corey Smith will be ordained as deacons. Pastor Daryl Cody, New Life Ministries of Apex, will deliver the ordination message. You don't want to miss this special occasion!

My Hope Sunday is 3/20. We are asking members to commit to inviting at least one unbeliever/unchurched person to attend church with you. Bring in your commitment cards and let's commit to filling the church with those who need to hear the Gospel (perhaps for the first time).

Mortgage Burning Ceremony (10.6.24)

Today is a day of celebration and gratitude as we come together to witness the burning of our church’s mortgage! This moment represents years of faith, commitment, and sacrificial giving from this congregation. It’s a testament to God’s faithfulness and the dedication of His people. What we are celebrating today is not just the end of a financial obligation, but the beginning of new possibilities for missions, outreach, and service in our community.   ---     Psalm 127:1 says, ‘Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.’   This building has been more than just bricks and mortar; it has been a spiritual home where so many lives have been touched by the gospel. We recognize that while we’ve paid off the mortgage, it is the Lord who has truly built this house, sustaining us through every season.   --- History of the Vision         Though this chapter is closing, the mission God has ...

My Hope Sunday, M:T Not a Competition, Prayer Gathering (Pastoral Emphasis for 10/13)

Today was My Hope Sunday ! We had several invited guests, and my message was from 1 Samuel 8:4-9 on "Looking for a Savior".  Israel wanted a king like the other nations who would “save” them. This is the very definition of a functional savior. A functional savior is anything or anyone a person looks to for ultimate hope, security, identity, or fulfillment in place of God. Whatever you look to to “save” you from your problems, fears, or insecurities is your functional savior. But all of our functional saviors cannot save us. Jesus is the Savior we really need!  Our greatest need in this life and the life to come is to have our sins forgiven by trusting in Jesus as our Lord and Savior! Today, my wife shared her My Hope Testimony .   (RSS Subscribers: click here to watch the video) Missions:Together’s "Not a Competition" is a powerful missions gathering designed to re-ignite your passion for missions on Saturday, November 2, hosted at The Summit Church in Apex.
