Thanks, Prayer 2015, Speaking at Scott's Grove Church (Pastoral Emphasis for 9/27)

We are reading through the Bible as a church family this year. We're following the 52-week reading plan. We are on week 39.

Thanks for your generous giving for my pastoral anniversary. Your generosity and prayers are greatly appreciated.


Please register ASAP for Prayer 2015, the area-wide prayer rally that will be held at Memorial Auditorium, Raleigh, on Tuesday, October 6th, from 7 to 9pm. The event will be led by a group of area pastors, with many different churches across denominations and ethnicities participating in a time of worship and prayer. Mt. Zion has 25 reserved seats available. You may sign up online if you would like to participate. Contact Sis. Sandra Broadwater for questions. Please sign up by Wednesday so we can make any seats that we don't fill available to other churches.

Next Sunday at 4pm, I will be preaching at Scott's Grove Church for their Pastor's Aide/Pastor's Pre-Anniversary Service and our Gospel Choir will render the music. Everyone is invited to attend. If you've gone with us before to Scott's Grove, you'll know that we do not agree with everything that this church does and practices but this is an opportunity for us to take the Gospel to the members of this church.

Youth Sunday, J. Allen Lewis Scholarship Winners, A Word to Our Graduates (Pastoral Emphasis for 6/14)

  Today was Youth Sunday , where our children and youth were leading and participating in the worship service. Our children read scripture, prayed, sang, and ministered a fine arts piece. We heard a message from a youth speaker, Abigail Campbell, who encouraged us to work hard and leave the rest to God.  Celebrating Our Graduates We also recognized and celebrated all of our graduates. Whether you completed high school, earned a college degree, completed graduate studies, or achieved another educational milestone, we rejoice with you and thank God for your hard work and perseverance. We are also grateful for the impact of the Delta Academy and GEM programs , which have been meeting at Mt. Zion. We appreciate the investment these programs make in developing and encouraging young people, and we thank Ms. Daniel and Ms. Owens for their leadership and partnership. J.  Recently Came Forward We rejoice in sharing that Chris Walker has rededicated his life to Jesus Christ. What a wonderful reminder that God continues to pursue His people with grace and mercy.
