YOUR STORY due today, Ash Wednesday, Single Seasons in Life (Pastoral Emphasis for 2/15)

We are reading through the Bible as a church family this year. We're following the 52 week reading plan. We are on week 7.

Last week, we read in Judges, "And there arose another generation after them who did not know the LORD or the work that he had done for Israel." So "it is the task of the former generation to tell the story of God's work to later generations. For God's people today, this supremely means passing on the story of God's greatest work...the Gospel." This is one of the motivations for us wanting to capture YOUR STORY so that we can leave it behind for later generations to know the work of God in our lives and this church. Today is the deadline to submit YOUR STORY, which will be compiled and put into a SCRAPBOOK for the 150th Anniversary. Submit YOUR STORY here.

Join us again for Wednesday Family Worship. Dinner will be served at 6:00pm. We will be studying 1 John 2:1-14 after Praise and Worship at 7:00pm and end at 8:00pm.

Also, this Wednesday is Ash Wednesday, the first day of the Lent season (40 day period of prayer and fasting). After Bible Study, we'll be anointing everyone with ashes to demonstrate our mourning over sin and repentance before God. During Lent, we call everyone to fast and pray. You can decide to do a total fast of all foods or a partial fast of a particular food or activity. One of the things we want to pray for is revival...personal revival and church revival in Mt. Zion.

This month we're doing registration for Life Groups. Life Groups is a great way to live in community and foster discipleship in a smaller group setting. We have a new Life Group starting called Single Seasons in Life. Minister Lydia Amekuedi will be hosting it.

Life Group Name: Single Seasons in Life
Description: God created us to be in relationship with Him and with one another. Singleness has stages. Never married, loss of spouse in death, loss of spouse in divorce. Yet in these stages, relationship still happens and we have to know how to have close relationships with children, relatives, friends and coworkers. This group will discuss The Five Love Languages (Singles Edition) by Gary Chapman.
Time: 4pm – 6pm Place: Home of Minister Amekuedi, to start
Capacity: 12
Start Date: Saturday, March 21st - June 13th. Sessions will be every two weeks for a total of 7 sessions.

Mortgage Burning Ceremony (10.6.24)

Today is a day of celebration and gratitude as we come together to witness the burning of our church’s mortgage! This moment represents years of faith, commitment, and sacrificial giving from this congregation. It’s a testament to God’s faithfulness and the dedication of His people. What we are celebrating today is not just the end of a financial obligation, but the beginning of new possibilities for missions, outreach, and service in our community.   ---     Psalm 127:1 says, ‘Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.’   This building has been more than just bricks and mortar; it has been a spiritual home where so many lives have been touched by the gospel. We recognize that while we’ve paid off the mortgage, it is the Lord who has truly built this house, sustaining us through every season.   --- History of the Vision         Though this chapter is closing, the mission God has ...
