Exploring the Holy Spirit, Watoto Children's Choir, OCA Presentation (Pastoral Emphasis for 1/11)

We are reading through the Bible as a church family this year.  We're following the 52 week reading plan.  After the first week, I like the diversity of this plan.  Each day you read from a different genre like the Epistles, the Law, History, etc.  You can download a copy of the reading plan from the announcement section of the church website.

We continuing our Bible Study series, "Exploring the Holy Spirit".  This Wednesday, we look at the unforgivable sin, blasphemy against the Spirit as well as the Baptism of the Spirit and filling of the Spirit.  Come out and bring a friend.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 7th at 4pm, we're partnering with our brothers & sisters at Mosaic Church to host the Watoto Children's Choir from Uganda. We want this to be a community outreach event. So stayed tuned for more details.

As a part of our mission to serve our community, we're going to look at how we might partner with Oak City Academy, a Classical Christian Montessori School in Raleigh.  Check out these year-end highlights.

We were happy to have the school's director, Bro. Danny Breed, give us a brief presentation right after the service today.  Let me know if you are interested in volunteering at the school or if you would like to get more details.

Just a reminder that we ask everyone to not move and leave right after the sermon (unless you must go to work) as we don't want the movement to be a distraction for the call to discipleship.  If you need to leave before the end of the service, you can exit when we call for the altar prayer.

Also, remember that we will pray for individuals after the service. So if you need individual prayer after the altar prayer, please remain after the service and we will pray for you around the altar.  We're hoping that this will give more time to pray for people without feeling like we're prolonging the service.

Mortgage Burning Ceremony (10.6.24)

Today is a day of celebration and gratitude as we come together to witness the burning of our church’s mortgage! This moment represents years of faith, commitment, and sacrificial giving from this congregation. It’s a testament to God’s faithfulness and the dedication of His people. What we are celebrating today is not just the end of a financial obligation, but the beginning of new possibilities for missions, outreach, and service in our community.   ---     Psalm 127:1 says, ‘Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.’   This building has been more than just bricks and mortar; it has been a spiritual home where so many lives have been touched by the gospel. We recognize that while we’ve paid off the mortgage, it is the Lord who has truly built this house, sustaining us through every season.   --- History of the Vision         Though this chapter is closing, the mission God has ...

Responding to the Flooding, Christmas in July Food Drive, New Sermon Series (Pastoral Emphasis for 7/13)

Responding to the Flooding All of us are painfully aware of the devastating flooding that struck our nation recently. As of Friday evening, the confirmed death toll in Texas has risen to 129, with at least 150 individuals still missing across the state. Our hearts are heavy, and we grieve for the lives lost and the families enduring unimaginable pain. One of the first things people tend to do is look for someone to blame. Was it the fault of the warning system not being early enough? Was it the fault of the government (state and federal)? Was it the fault of God? If God is so good, why do we suffer with natural disasters like flooding that takes the lives of seemingly innocent people like young children? The reality is that the fault lies with us. Humanity decided to rebel against the Creator God, thereby, ushering in sin and the fall from God's perfect creation. Natural disasters happen because we live in a fallen world ravaged by sin. Natural disasters like these floods are trag...
