The conference will have some great speakers so goto http://www.leverageyourcalling.com/ to register.

Our friends at Vision Church in Raleigh are hosting the Sex and the Gospel conference to examine the biblical view of sex. The conference is September 19-20. Goto http://sexandthegospel.com/ to register.

Speaking of Vision Church, they will be with us for Renewal Service on Friday, 9/26 at 7pm. Pastor Jerome Gay will be bringing the Word. Mark your calendar and join us.

I'm calling for a fast this week. I'm asking that we as a church would fast from one meal each day this week (Monday through Saturday).  Based on the sermon today, "Set Apart & Sent Out", we'll be fasting and praying that the Holy Spirit would speak to each us on what God has set us apart to you.  Pray that the Holy Spirit makes clear if He's calling you to a particular role (missionary, church planter, etc) or service (in the church or community).

Minnesota School Shooting, Music Ministry Recruitment, Ark Encounter Trip (Pastoral Emphasis for 8/31)

Minnesota School Shooting Our hearts are heavy over the tragic school and church shooting in Minneapolis at Annunciation Catholic School, where two children lost their lives and many others—some as young as six—are recovering from serious injuries. Sadly, we couldn't get through a full week of traditional school before something like this happens. In this time of profound sorrow, let us hold close in prayer the grieving parents, families, and the entire Annunciation community. Though we cannot fully comprehend their pain, we can stand alongside them in faith, offering compassion, and intercession. May God bring comfort to those who mourn, healing to the wounded, and peace to a terrified community.  Of course, a mass shooting always brings up the issue for stricter gun laws. I agree we do need good legislation and sensible gun laws because it is the government's responsibility to protect its citizens. Ultimately, that will not solve our problem. For a country that has been ...
