Reserve Your Spot for Prayer 2013, Bible Study Series Resumes, LifeGroups Filling Up (Pastoral Emphasis for 9/29)

Today's reading from the Chronological Reading Plan: Nehemiah 11-13; Psalm 126

On Tuesday, October 15th, there will be an area-wide prayer gathering at Memorial Auditorium in Raleigh from 7 to 9pm. The event will be led by a group of area pastors, with many churches participating.  Mt. Zion has 24 reserved seats available. You can sign up online if you would like to participate. For questions, contact Sis. Tammy Larkins, our prayer coordinator.

Normal Bible Study resumes this Wednesday at 7pm. We continue with "Heaven, Hell, and the End of the World".

To be a disciples not only means following Christ but also investing in the life of others in order to make disciples.  Sign-up today for one of our C3 LifeGroups launching in October. They are filling up fast.  We have a few LifeGroups for multiple people still available. I want to highlight a few LifeGroups:

  • God's World (18+) - To create an environment where fellow brothers and sisters in Christ can encourage, strengthen and bear each other’s burdens based on biblical principles.
  • One Day at a Time (21+) - Focuses on helping each other through difficult life circumstances.
  • The Journey (all) - Supporting one another through God’s Word as we focus on our personal goals through life's journey.
  • Disciple vs Disciple (all, may especially appeal to youth) - focuses on Video Gaming in a Christian way (building up a competitive spirit while focusing on building one another up).
  • Ask any of our Discipleship Ministry members for more details.

Minnesota School Shooting, Music Ministry Recruitment, Ark Encounter Trip (Pastoral Emphasis for 8/31)

Minnesota School Shooting Our hearts are heavy over the tragic school and church shooting in Minneapolis at Annunciation Catholic School, where two children lost their lives and many others—some as young as six—are recovering from serious injuries. Sadly, we couldn't get through a full week of traditional school before something like this happens. In this time of profound sorrow, let us hold close in prayer the grieving parents, families, and the entire Annunciation community. Though we cannot fully comprehend their pain, we can stand alongside them in faith, offering compassion, and intercession. May God bring comfort to those who mourn, healing to the wounded, and peace to a terrified community.  Of course, a mass shooting always brings up the issue for stricter gun laws. I agree we do need good legislation and sensible gun laws because it is the government's responsibility to protect its citizens. Ultimately, that will not solve our problem. For a country that has been ...
