"Loving Muslims", Fasting & Praying for New Church Plant, Church Family Meeting (Pastoral Emphasis for 10/27)

Today's reading from the Chronological Reading Plan: Luke 14-15

We have extra handouts from Wednesday's Bible Study class on the three major views of the end times in Revelation. Feel free to pick one up at the Welcome Center while supplies last or download here.  Our next Bible Study series is "Loving Muslims" which we hope to show how you can share the Gospel with them.

Thanks to all who came out on Friday to our Vision Night for Church Planting. We're excited that Elder Daryl Cody will be launching New Life Ministries of Apex in December. If you have questions, please see him and his wife, Minister Angela Cody. Here are some take-aways from the meeting:

  • Mark your calendar for 11/16 at 4pm, we're hosting a Musical Benefit program to raise funds for the new church.
  • I'm calling for a time of prayer and fasting: Fast from at least one meal on the next 3 Fridays (11/1, 11/8, 11/15). While fasting, pray for New Life Ministries (NLM), the fundraising musical, how much you can financially sacrifice to support NLM, whether you are called to be a part of this church plant (we want to joyfully release anyone who wants to be a part of this kingdom work. Only go if you feel led by God and are ready to work hard!), and finally pray for Daryl and Angela. Church planting is hard work and they need your prayers and encouragement.

Our last Church Family Meeting for the year is tomorrow (Monday) at 7:00pm. We will have special guests from our bank, Vantage South, to present great opportunities for our members now that we have a relationship with them.  Also, I will be addressing some things that have happened recently at one of our Renewal service and the Ministers Ordination.  Some of you may have some questions and I don't want there to be any confusion especially in regards to the Biblical position of women in ministry.  We hold a complementarian view that men and women are equal but have distinct roles.  All ministries in the church are open to all qualified men and women with the exception of the office of elder/pastor, which Scripture require to be a male-only office. At our Family Meeting, I'll review that from Scripture again.  All members are asked to attend.

Mortgage Burning Ceremony (10.6.24)

Today is a day of celebration and gratitude as we come together to witness the burning of our church’s mortgage! This moment represents years of faith, commitment, and sacrificial giving from this congregation. It’s a testament to God’s faithfulness and the dedication of His people. What we are celebrating today is not just the end of a financial obligation, but the beginning of new possibilities for missions, outreach, and service in our community.   ---     Psalm 127:1 says, ‘Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.’   This building has been more than just bricks and mortar; it has been a spiritual home where so many lives have been touched by the gospel. We recognize that while we’ve paid off the mortgage, it is the Lord who has truly built this house, sustaining us through every season.   --- History of the Vision         Though this chapter is closing, the mission God has ...

My Hope Sunday, M:T Not a Competition, Prayer Gathering (Pastoral Emphasis for 10/13)

Today was My Hope Sunday ! We had several invited guests, and my message was from 1 Samuel 8:4-9 on "Looking for a Savior".  Israel wanted a king like the other nations who would “save” them. This is the very definition of a functional savior. A functional savior is anything or anyone a person looks to for ultimate hope, security, identity, or fulfillment in place of God. Whatever you look to to “save” you from your problems, fears, or insecurities is your functional savior. But all of our functional saviors cannot save us. Jesus is the Savior we really need!  Our greatest need in this life and the life to come is to have our sins forgiven by trusting in Jesus as our Lord and Savior! Today, my wife shared her My Hope Testimony .   (RSS Subscribers: click here to watch the video) Missions:Together’s "Not a Competition" is a powerful missions gathering designed to re-ignite your passion for missions on Saturday, November 2, hosted at The Summit Church in Apex.
