Pastoral Emphasis from 4/20

I remind the youth ministry that the deadline to submit their video for “The MZ YouthTube Challenge” is April 25th. The challenge is to create a 3 to 5 minute video on an evangelistic topic. The best videos will be posted on YouTube, GodTube, Facebook, MySpace, and the church’s website for internet evangelism day on April 27th.

Everyone is invited to join us for our next Bible Study series, "Spiritual Warfare - Biblical Approach," that begins on Wednesday. We are truly in a spiritual battle. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds (2 Corinthians 10:4).

High School seniors…now is the time to apply for the 2008 JA Lewis Scholarship. See the church announcements for more details.

Everyone is invited to go out with us as we go to speak and fellowship with Pastor Maurice Wright and New Destiny Christian Fellowship Church for their 4th Anniversary on Thursday at 7:30pm.

We had 100 CDs of my message “Do you love Jesus more than these things?” for free. I wanted to give them all away so people could listen repeatedly to the message and mediate on it (faith comes by hearing). Also, you can pick up some CDs to give away.

It was announced at Bible Study about a single mother with three girls who are in desperate need of some essentials items. You may have some of these items already that you can donate to the family. Let's be a blessing to this family. Sis. Winters Hankins has volunteered to help collect these items and make sure they get to the family. Contact Sis. Hankins to find out what items are needed. If you would like to donate money, you may give her cash or gift cards.

Minnesota School Shooting, Music Ministry Recruitment, Ark Encounter Trip (Pastoral Emphasis for 8/31)

Minnesota School Shooting Our hearts are heavy over the tragic school and church shooting in Minneapolis at Annunciation Catholic School, where two children lost their lives and many others—some as young as six—are recovering from serious injuries. Sadly, we couldn't get through a full week of traditional school before something like this happens. In this time of profound sorrow, let us hold close in prayer the grieving parents, families, and the entire Annunciation community. Though we cannot fully comprehend their pain, we can stand alongside them in faith, offering compassion, and intercession. May God bring comfort to those who mourn, healing to the wounded, and peace to a terrified community.  Of course, a mass shooting always brings up the issue for stricter gun laws. I agree we do need good legislation and sensible gun laws because it is the government's responsibility to protect its citizens. Ultimately, that will not solve our problem. For a country that has been ...
