The homegoing service for my grandmother was a blessing as we remembered her and the impact she had on the lives of my family and others. She was a Godly woman who raised her children with strict discipline. Just ask my mother and she will tell you how she didn't get to do anything growing up. I remember as a child that I didn't want to go and visit my grandmother because she would put the belt on the table so that I would eat my vegetables. My mom said that is why I *needed* to go to there. My grandmother came to live with my family when I was about 15 years old and being an only child I was not too thrilled with this (it had always been just the three of us...my mom, dad, and me). But after she came, I really couldn't imagine her not being there through my high school and college years.
So much is said about generational curses, but I thank God for generational blessings in my family and my grandmother passed her faith to my mother who passed her faith to me and now I am passing my faith to my children.
My grandmother will be missed but I'm comforted to know that she is in the presence of the Lord. Her favorite song was "Walk with me". And I believe that Jesus is walking with her right now.
