Bereavement, New Member Candidate, August Birthdays & Anniversaries (Pastoral Emphasis for 8/2)

Bereavement

Our hearts are saddened by the sudden passing of Taquez Locklear, a young man who grew up here at Mt. Zion. Taquez was the grandson of Sis. Carolyn Locklear, and we grieve alongside the Locklear family during this difficult time.

Please keep the entire family in your prayers, asking the Lord to surround them with His comfort, peace, and strength in the days ahead.

We will share funeral arrangements as soon as they become available.

"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit." — Psalm 34:18

Welcome New Member Candidate

We are delighted to welcome Chris Lucas, who has joined Mt. Zion on Christian Experience and has also come forward as a candidate for baptism.

We praise God for bringing Chris into our church family and look forward to walking alongside him as he continues to grow in his faith. Be sure to introduce yourself and help him feel at home at Mt. Zion.

July Fellowship Time Survey

Last month, we introduced something new during our Sunday morning worship—a 10-minute fellowship and transition time designed to help us build stronger relationships while allowing our youth and young adults to transition to their classes.

We've already received a great deal of encouraging and thoughtful feedback from those who completed our survey. Thank you to everyone who has shared your thoughts!

If you haven't completed the survey yet, we encourage you to do so. Your input will help us evaluate this new addition and determine how we can continue strengthening fellowship within our church family.

Together we'll explore what it means to build a Christ-centered marriage through:

  • Practical biblical teaching
  • Breakout sessions on communication and intimacy
  • An encouraging panel discussion featuring married couples
  • Fellowship and refreshments

Whether you've been married for a few months or many decades, this seminar is designed to encourage, strengthen, and equip your relationship.

Please register by scanning the QR code or stop by the Oneness Ministry table after today's service or next Sunday.

Worship Before Wednesday Night Bible Study

This Wednesday, don't just come for Bible Study—come ready to worship!

Starting at 6:30 PM, we'll gather for a time of praise and worship intentionally connected to that evening's Bible Study lesson. The songs, Scripture readings, and worship experience will reinforce the biblical truths we'll be studying together.

Our desire is simple:

Worship the message. Study the message. Live the message.

Following worship, we'll continue with our Bible Study as we seek to grow together in God's Word.

Come expecting a meaningful evening where worship and Scripture work together to strengthen your faith and deepen your understanding of God's truth.
