Bereavement, Back-to-School Prayer, Ironworkers Mentoring Program (Pastoral Emphasis for 8/16)

Bereavement

Please keep Sister Earlene Evans and her family in your prayers following the passing of her mother. Her mother was laid to rest this past Friday.

May we continue to surround the Evans family with our love and prayers, asking God to provide comfort, strength, and peace during this time of loss.

Youth Choir Rehearsal

Parents, this is a reminder that we will have a Youth Choir Rehearsal on Saturday, August 22, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

We need your support in making sure our young people have the opportunity to participate. Our youth are an important part of the life and ministry of Mt. Zion, and we want to encourage them to use their gifts to worship and serve the Lord.

If you have questions, please contact Sis. Janelle Wallace or Bro. Frankie McInnis.

Back-to-School Prayer

Next Sunday, August 23, we will have a special Back-to-School Prayer for all of our children as they prepare for the beginning of the traditional school calendar.

As our children and young people enter a new school year, we want to cover them in prayer. We will ask God to give them wisdom, courage, protection, and a desire to honor Him in their classrooms, friendships, activities, and everyday lives.

Parents, make sure your children are with us as we pray over them and send them into this new school year with God's blessing.

Ironworkers Mentoring Program

Parents of young men in grades 6–12, don't forget about Ironworkers, our mentoring program designed to help our young men grow in character, faith, leadership, and brotherhood.

The Men's Ministry will host our young men immediately following today's benediction for Ironworkers fellowship. Lunch will be provided, and transportation home will be available for young men who remain after church to participate.

We are committed to investing in the next generation of godly men, and we encourage parents to take advantage of this opportunity.

Men's Retreat Debrief Meeting

For the men who will be attending the upcoming Men's Retreat, there will be an important debrief meeting immediately after today's service in the Multipurpose Room (MPR).

The Retreat Committee will share important information regarding:

  • Arrival and departure times
  • Use of the church bus
  • Golf and white-water rafting arrangements
  • Carpooling
  • Room assignments

If you have a student who will be attending the retreat, parents are asked to attend this meeting as well.

Please make plans to stay after service so that everyone has the information needed to help make the retreat a successful and enjoyable experience.

Youth Sunday, J. Allen Lewis Scholarship Winners, A Word to Our Graduates (Pastoral Emphasis for 6/14)

Today was Youth Sunday , where our children and youth were leading and participating in the worship service. Our children read scripture, prayed, sang, and ministered a fine arts piece. We heard a message from a youth speaker, Abigail Campbell, who encouraged us to work hard and leave the rest to God.  Celebrating Our Graduates We also recognized and celebrated all of our graduates. Whether you completed high school, earned a college degree, completed graduate studies, or achieved another educational milestone, we rejoice with you and thank God for your hard work and perseverance. We are also grateful for the impact of the Delta Academy and GEM programs , which have been meeting at Mt. Zion.
