March Birthdays & Anniversaries, EQUIP Conference, My Hope Sunday (Pastoral Emphasis for 3/1)

Donation Update: Watoto – Neighborhood Mothers

Thank you to everyone who supported the Watoto Neighborhood Mothers during their recent visit.

We’ve learned that some may have experienced issues with Watoto’s online giving platform on Friday. If you attempted to give and were unable to do so, you can still participate. Please give your donation directly to Mt. Zion and clearly note that it is designated for Watoto. We will ensure it reaches the ministry.

Your generosity helps support mothers in Uganda and South Sudan whose lives have been transformed through the love of Jesus.

Bereavement

We ask the church family to keep Sis. Gibbons in your prayers during this time of loss. She is grieving the passing of her granddaughter, whom she and her late husband lovingly raised. Let us keep her in prayer as she grieves the loss of her loved one.

Welcome New Member

Please join us in welcoming Jessica McLaren as our newest member. We thank God for adding to our fellowship and look forward to growing together in faith and service.

EQUIP Conference

Mark your calendars for our upcoming EQUIP Conference on March 13–15. The theme this year is DISCERNMENT.

We will explore:

  • What discernment is and its purpose

  • How to grow in discernment spiritually

  • How to apply discernment in the church and in today’s culture

In times of uncertainty and confusion, discernment is not optional—it is essential. This conference is free and open to everyone, so invite your friends and family. Please register to help us plan appropriately for food and logistics.

Bible Bowl IV

Join us for our 4th Annual Bible Bowl on Saturday, April 11, from 11:00 AM–2:00 PM.

This will be a fun and friendly test of your Bible knowledge, with prizes awarded to both teams and audience participants. Whether you compete or cheer others on, it promises to be an exciting and enriching time together.

My Hope Sunday

Next Sunday is My Hope Sunday.

We are asking every member to commit to inviting at least one unbeliever or unchurched person to join us for worship. Our goal is to fill the sanctuary with those who need to hear the Good News of the Gospel.

During the service, we will boldly and clearly share our hope in Jesus Christ.

In light of current global tensions—particularly the escalating conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran—many are anxious and uncertain. War and the threat of war can cause people to lose hope and wonder what is happening in our world.

Our message next Sunday will be titled:
“My Hope in Wars & Rumors of Wars.”

In unstable times, the church must point people to a stable Savior. When nations rage and uncertainty rises, our hope is not in governments or geopolitics, but in the sovereign reign of Christ.

Let’s pray fervently, invite boldly, and trust God to move powerfully.

Minnesota School Shooting, Music Ministry Recruitment, Ark Encounter Trip (Pastoral Emphasis for 8/31)

Minnesota School Shooting Our hearts are heavy over the tragic school and church shooting in Minneapolis at Annunciation Catholic School, where two children lost their lives and many others—some as young as six—are recovering from serious injuries. Sadly, we couldn't get through a full week of traditional school before something like this happens. In this time of profound sorrow, let us hold close in prayer the grieving parents, families, and the entire Annunciation community. Though we cannot fully comprehend their pain, we can stand alongside them in faith, offering compassion, and intercession. May God bring comfort to those who mourn, healing to the wounded, and peace to a terrified community.  Of course, a mass shooting always brings up the issue for stricter gun laws. I agree we do need good legislation and sensible gun laws because it is the government's responsibility to protect its citizens. Ultimately, that will not solve our problem. For a country that has been ...
