Church Family Meeting (1/26/25)

Church Family Meeting: “On Mission” for Christ

As we step into 2025, our church family is excited to embark on a year of intentional ministry guided by our new theme: On Mission. This theme reflects our commitment to living purposefully for Christ, sharing the Gospel, and being His light in the world.

Here are the highlights from our recent church family meeting, outlining the initiatives and pastoral emphasis for the year ahead.

2025 Key Ministry Initiatives

Church Theme: On Mission

This year, we challenge ourselves to embrace a lifestyle that is fully devoted to Christ’s mission. Whether at home, work, or within our communities, we will focus on sharing the Gospel and shining God’s light through our actions, words, and relationships.

Transition from the Sign Team to a Deaf Ministry

In 2025, we will start transitioning from our Sign Team to a fully developed Deaf Ministry. This will allow us to deepen our impact and better serve the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community by creating spaces for worship, fellowship, and connection.

New Life Group for Single Mothers

Recognizing the unique needs of single mothers, we are launching a Life Group to provide spiritual support, encouragement, and practical resources. This group will serve as a haven for mothers to grow in their faith while building a community of care and connection. Sis. Janae Branch will be leading this Life Group.

Watoto Choir Tour Stop – March 18

We are honored to host the Watoto Choir during their “Better Days – There is Hope” tour. This powerful evening of music and worship will inspire hope and support the ministry of Watoto, which cares for vulnerable children and women in Africa. Mark your calendars!

Local Community Outreach: Northwoods Crossing

This year, we are committed to building stronger relationships with our neighbors at Northwoods Crossing. Through outreach events, service projects, and intentional engagement, we aim to be a beacon of Christ’s love to the local community.

Planning for an Outside Pavilion

Initial planning is underway for the addition of an outdoor pavilion. This multi-purpose space will provide opportunities for fellowship, worship, and community events, furthering our mission of creating spaces for connection and outreach.

Support for Hurricane Helene Recovery Efforts

In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina, we are committed to supporting recovery efforts. This includes collecting supplies, financial contributions, and sending volunteers to assist affected communities.

Partnerships with Missions: Together Initiatives

We will actively engage with the Missions: Together network to expand our gospel impact. Through partnerships and shared resources, we aim to get equipped to further the Gospel and meet the spiritual needs of those lost around us.

Exploring Short-Term Missions Trips

After a period of pause, we are excited to explore opportunities to resume short-term missions trips. These trips will provide hands-on opportunities for our congregation to serve, learn, and grow while sharing the love of Christ in communities around the world.

REALM Contact Information Update

To stay connected, we encourage everyone to update their contact information in REALM, our church management system. Accurate contact details ensure you receive timely updates and ministry communications. If you have problems updating in REALM, contact the church office.

Giving Statements

Giving statements are now available at the Welcome Center. Thank you for your faithful generosity, which fuels the ministries and outreach efforts of our church.

Media Communications: Min. Brandi Hancock

Minister Brandi Hancock has resumed her role as Media Communications leader. We are grateful for her expertise and passion in this area, and we look forward to the creative ways she will support our church’s mission.

Men’s Ministry Leadership Transition

The oversight of the Men’s Ministry will transition to Elder Adrian Jones. Given Elder Jones’s deep involvement in various aspects of this ministry, this is a natural and logical decision for him to take on this role. This change will also help lighten Elder Sean Cherry's responsibilities.

Opportunities to Serve

The call to service remains a cornerstone of our faith journey. We encourage each member of our church family to prayerfully seek opportunities to serve, whether within the church or in the broader community.

Looking Ahead

2025 is a year of exciting possibilities. Together, we will live “On Mission,” sharing Christ’s love in meaningful ways and making a lasting impact both locally and globally. Let us move forward in faith, unity, and purpose, trusting God to guide and bless our efforts.

We are grateful for your prayers, participation, and dedication as we step into this new year of ministry. Let’s make 2025 a year where we boldly proclaim the hope of Christ!

Mortgage Burning Ceremony (10.6.24)

Today is a day of celebration and gratitude as we come together to witness the burning of our church’s mortgage! This moment represents years of faith, commitment, and sacrificial giving from this congregation. It’s a testament to God’s faithfulness and the dedication of His people. What we are celebrating today is not just the end of a financial obligation, but the beginning of new possibilities for missions, outreach, and service in our community.   ---     Psalm 127:1 says, ‘Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.’   This building has been more than just bricks and mortar; it has been a spiritual home where so many lives have been touched by the gospel. We recognize that while we’ve paid off the mortgage, it is the Lord who has truly built this house, sustaining us through every season.   --- History of the Vision         Though this chapter is closing, the mission God has ...

My Hope Sunday, M:T Not a Competition, Prayer Gathering (Pastoral Emphasis for 10/13)

Today was My Hope Sunday ! We had several invited guests, and my message was from 1 Samuel 8:4-9 on "Looking for a Savior".  Israel wanted a king like the other nations who would “save” them. This is the very definition of a functional savior. A functional savior is anything or anyone a person looks to for ultimate hope, security, identity, or fulfillment in place of God. Whatever you look to to “save” you from your problems, fears, or insecurities is your functional savior. But all of our functional saviors cannot save us. Jesus is the Savior we really need!  Our greatest need in this life and the life to come is to have our sins forgiven by trusting in Jesus as our Lord and Savior! Today, my wife shared her My Hope Testimony .   (RSS Subscribers: click here to watch the video) Missions:Together’s "Not a Competition" is a powerful missions gathering designed to re-ignite your passion for missions on Saturday, November 2, hosted at The Summit Church in Apex.
