A special thank you to Sis. Shebbie Coppage & her team, the hospitality ministry, youth ministry leaders, children’s ministry teachers, young adult ministry, deacons, security ministry, music ministry, IT ministry, Min. Rasheeda Oliver, and Sis. Jennifer Allen for helping host a successful event! We can’t wait to plan more fellowship events for our young people!

As we expand our efforts into the community, Mt. Zion will participate in The Rhythm of Joy: A Gospel Experience on Sept 7th at 6pm at the Cary Arts Center. Now days many people no longer want to go into a church building but are still open to inspirational music in a public venue. This is an opportunity to still minister the word through music. It is also an opportunity to showcase North Carolina Gospel Artists & Choirs in an effort to support the regional talent. Please pick up a postcard in the lobby and invite a friend or neighbor to join you to hear some good music.

We will be sponsoring a coat & winter accessory collection for the students of Northwoods elementary school starting at 5pm. Detailed information is in realm, however children in this category range from the ages of 4 yrs-11 yrs old, sized accordingly in children/youth.

Our worship ministry has been asked to sing in the Community Unity Choir. If you would like to sing in this choir, the first rehearsal will be held at Cary First Christian (1100 Evan Rd) on Aug 28th at 7pm, see Bro. Spence Martin & Sis. Ebony Mouzone for additional details. If you would like to volunteer with the Collection, see Sis. Tasha Smith or volunteer in general, see Sis. Kim Roberts.

Our next church-wide prayer gathering is Tuesday, 8/20, from 7 to 8pm. The deaconess ministry is hosting and everyone is invited to come out to pray. You can submit your prayer requests online or put them in the prayer request box.

Responding to the Flooding, Christmas in July Food Drive, New Sermon Series (Pastoral Emphasis for 7/13)

Responding to the Flooding All of us are painfully aware of the devastating flooding that struck our nation recently. As of Friday evening, the confirmed death toll in Texas has risen to 129, with at least 150 individuals still missing across the state. Our hearts are heavy, and we grieve for the lives lost and the families enduring unimaginable pain. One of the first things people tend to do is look for someone to blame. Was it the fault of the warning system not being early enough? Was it the fault of the government (state and federal)? Was it the fault of God? If God is so good, why do we suffer with natural disasters like flooding that takes the lives of seemingly innocent people like young children? The reality is that the fault lies with us. Humanity decided to rebel against the Creator God, thereby, ushering in sin and the fall from God's perfect creation. Natural disasters happen because we live in a fallen world ravaged by sin. Natural disasters like these floods are trag...
