Church-Wide Prayer Gathering, VBS, Happy Father's Day (Pastoral Emphasis for 6/16)

We welcome the following who recently joined on Christian Experience: Marvin & Maxine Williams

Join us on Tuesday for our Church-Wide Prayer Gathering from 7 to 8pm. Given all that's going on in the world and our lives, the topic will be “How do we as Christians keep the Faith?". Our Hospitality Ministry is hosting and everyone is invited to come out for prayer. You can submit your prayer requests online or in the prayer request box.

Then join us for Vacation Bible School on Wednesday through Friday starting at 6pm. Dinner will be served nightly. Our theme is “We are Change Makers”. VBS has something for the entire family. On Saturday, we'll have a Community Family Fun Day from 10am to 2pm. Invite guests to come out and join us for food, fun, and fellowship. On Sunday, we'll wrap up with a special message relating to our VBS theme. Even if you haven't registered, you're are more than welcome to come out and attend.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads. Ladies and children can we give honor to the fathers. I'm thankful for all the great dads at Mt. Zion who are holding it down.

Like Mother's Day, Father's Day can be tough for many. Whether your father is no longer living, you didn't know your father, your father was not much of a father, or even if you desire to be a father and it has not happened it, I want to encourage you that God has revealed Himself as Father and through faith in Jesus, we have received the spirit of adoption and can call God, Abba. And even if you've messed up as a dad, remember that you don't have to be perfect because Jesus was perfect for you. Keep your eyes on Jesus and He'll sanctify you to become a better father.

Minnesota School Shooting, Music Ministry Recruitment, Ark Encounter Trip (Pastoral Emphasis for 8/31)

Minnesota School Shooting Our hearts are heavy over the tragic school and church shooting in Minneapolis at Annunciation Catholic School, where two children lost their lives and many others—some as young as six—are recovering from serious injuries. Sadly, we couldn't get through a full week of traditional school before something like this happens. In this time of profound sorrow, let us hold close in prayer the grieving parents, families, and the entire Annunciation community. Though we cannot fully comprehend their pain, we can stand alongside them in faith, offering compassion, and intercession. May God bring comfort to those who mourn, healing to the wounded, and peace to a terrified community.  Of course, a mass shooting always brings up the issue for stricter gun laws. I agree we do need good legislation and sensible gun laws because it is the government's responsibility to protect its citizens. Ultimately, that will not solve our problem. For a country that has been ...
