Today, we started a new series in the book of Hebrews called “Jesus is Better”. The author of Hebrews is unknown. Even though we may not know the human author, we know that the Holy Spirit is the author! This letter was written in the first century, probably before 70 A.D.
Hebrews was written to address those Jews who were thinking about going back to Judaism. They professed belief in Jesus but for whatever reason (perhaps persecution and hardship) they were being tempted to go back to the old system of Judaism.
I want to remind everyone of our MAPS group...Mature Adults
Praying and Studying. This group meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month from 10 to 11:30AM at the church. If you're interested in spiritually growing with likely minded saints, check out MAPS.
Hebrews contains several warnings to keep people on the right path. The major theme of Hebrews is: Jesus Christ is greater than any angel, prophet, priest, old covenant institution, or anything else so hold onto your faith.
Next Sunday, we're having our last Church Family Meeting of the
year right after the service. So all members are asked to attend either in person or virtually via Webex. The special Webex link for the meeting will be sent out this week.
