October Birthdays & Anniversaries, Theological Seminar, Joint Worship & Prayer (Pastoral Emphasis for 10/3)

We praise God for James Thorpe who has trusted Christ as his personal Savior and is joining the church.

Happy Birthday to all the October babies:

Happy Anniversary to all the October couples including my wife and I who are celebrating our 23rd anniversary!

Our Senior Birthday Surprise for this month is Sis. Mary Higginbotham!

REMINDER: If you have not done so yet, please take a few minutes to fill out the discipleship survey that was sent out on Realm. The survey will end on October 10.

Did you know that Christianity was NOT first introduced to Africans during slavery? Did you know that Christianity was growing in Africa before it was ever growing in Europe? Did you know that the doctrine of the Trinity was significantly developed by an African church father? If not, then you'll want to join us for our next Theological Seminar on 10/16 at 9am featuring Pastor Jerome Gay, Jr. who will be presenting on: "The Whitewashing of Christianity: A Hidden Past, A Hurtful Present, and A Hopeful Future". The seminar will be both in person and virtual on Webex.

On Tuesday, Oct. 5th, Mt. Zion and Trinity Park Church will come together for a night of worship and prayer. The service will be held outdoors at Trinity Park. Everyone is invited to join us for this special night.

My Hope is next Sunday, October 10. We're asking all members to invite at least one person (a non-believer or unchurched person) to church either in person or virtually. People submitted the names of those they are invited and we prayed over them that God would save them.

In preparation for My Hope Sunday, we heard a testimony from a former member, Sis. Catherine Hankins.

Thank you all for your prayers, cards, texts, calls after the passing of my mom. The Lord allowed me to say my final goodbye to my mom and encourage her to go be with Jesus before she passed.  Her homegoing service will be on 10/9 in Michigan so I will miss My Hope Sunday but the Gospel will still go forward. We'll resume our Philippians sermon series on 10/17.

Mortgage Burning Ceremony (10.6.24)

Today is a day of celebration and gratitude as we come together to witness the burning of our church’s mortgage! This moment represents years of faith, commitment, and sacrificial giving from this congregation. It’s a testament to God’s faithfulness and the dedication of His people. What we are celebrating today is not just the end of a financial obligation, but the beginning of new possibilities for missions, outreach, and service in our community.   ---     Psalm 127:1 says, ‘Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.’   This building has been more than just bricks and mortar; it has been a spiritual home where so many lives have been touched by the gospel. We recognize that while we’ve paid off the mortgage, it is the Lord who has truly built this house, sustaining us through every season.   --- History of the Vision         Though this chapter is closing, the mission God has ...
