Prayer Rally, Preaching at Rooted Church, Back to School Prayer (Pastoral Emphasis for 8/16)

Our next Virtual Church-Wide Prayer Rally is 8/18 from 7 to 8pm. Make a plan to join us so we can pray together as a House of Prayer.

Next Sunday is our Youth Sunday. Also, I'll be preaching at Rooted

Church at their 10:30 am service which is being held outdoors at the Apex Community Park.

School is starting on Monday (some have already started). We pray at the beginning of every school year but this year it is especially important. This start of the school year has parents trying to decide what is best for their children and family...do they do online virtual academy or let their kids go to school in person? Some parents may not want to send their children but they may not have any other options because they have to work. This is why we should be praying for wisdom...for the parents, caregivers, children, school teachers, and staff.

Here's my Back to School Prayer...

Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you in the way you should go.  Isaiah 48:17

HEAVENLY FATHER,

You are our Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. Just as you taught and led Israel through your Law, teach us and lead us in the way we should go especially for this school year.

Lord, please grant wisdom to parents and caregivers as they navigate the schooling option they chose. We pray for your provision physically, spiritually, emotionally, and financially. We pray for a support system that they can turn to when the challenges of life are overwhelming. Help us as a church to surround families with more prayer and support this year than ever before.

Lord, please grant wisdom to our children to do well and excel in school. Ease the anxiety of those going back to school campus and give them peace. Give them wisdom on wearing masks and physically distancing when on campus. We pray that every child has enough to eat, a supportive network of friends and family, and perseverance to face every challenge with Your strength.

Lord, please grant wisdom and discernment to teachers, counselors, school administrators and support staff to come up with creative ways to teach and care for the students. We pray for wisdom for school district leaders, and for the safety of every staff person on every school campus. Help us support our schools by providing the sanitization, supplies, and emotional support needed by our teachers and school staff as they educate our children.

Lord, we pray for protection for all heading back to school...from pre-school to college. Protect them Covid-19. Don't let them take the virus back to their families.

Lord, we are thankful that You are sovereign and everything is under Your control. We trust our children and our schools to you. Let this be a great school year.

In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen

Mortgage Burning Ceremony (10.6.24)

Today is a day of celebration and gratitude as we come together to witness the burning of our church’s mortgage! This moment represents years of faith, commitment, and sacrificial giving from this congregation. It’s a testament to God’s faithfulness and the dedication of His people. What we are celebrating today is not just the end of a financial obligation, but the beginning of new possibilities for missions, outreach, and service in our community.   ---     Psalm 127:1 says, ‘Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.’   This building has been more than just bricks and mortar; it has been a spiritual home where so many lives have been touched by the gospel. We recognize that while we’ve paid off the mortgage, it is the Lord who has truly built this house, sustaining us through every season.   --- History of the Vision         Though this chapter is closing, the mission God has ...

My Hope Sunday, M:T Not a Competition, Prayer Gathering (Pastoral Emphasis for 10/13)

Today was My Hope Sunday ! We had several invited guests, and my message was from 1 Samuel 8:4-9 on "Looking for a Savior".  Israel wanted a king like the other nations who would “save” them. This is the very definition of a functional savior. A functional savior is anything or anyone a person looks to for ultimate hope, security, identity, or fulfillment in place of God. Whatever you look to to “save” you from your problems, fears, or insecurities is your functional savior. But all of our functional saviors cannot save us. Jesus is the Savior we really need!  Our greatest need in this life and the life to come is to have our sins forgiven by trusting in Jesus as our Lord and Savior! Today, my wife shared her My Hope Testimony .   (RSS Subscribers: click here to watch the video) Missions:Together’s "Not a Competition" is a powerful missions gathering designed to re-ignite your passion for missions on Saturday, November 2, hosted at The Summit Church in Apex.
