Bereavements, Ecuador Mission Trip, Spruce Up Stats (Pastoral Emphasis for 3/8)

We are currently fasting and praying as a church family for Lent. We are praying for personal and corporate revival in our church, and sacrificial giving.

During your prayer time, please remember a few of our members who are currently facing difficulties and bereavement...

  • Sis. Jackie Bradley broke her left ankle yesterday. She is recovering from surgery.
  • Deaconess Peggy Credle's aunt has passed. She is traveling today to New York.
  • Sis. Linda Spears lost a cousin and her brother has been diagnosed with lung cancer.
  • Deacon Bowser lost his maternal grandmother.
  • Hunter Family – Sis. Juanita Hunter's son (and brother to Sis. Sandra King & Thelma Hunter), Wilbert, passed last week. The homegoing service will be on Tuesday at Lincolnville AME Church. The viewing will be at 10am and the service will be at 11am.

If anyone is interested in going on the Ecuador mission trip, then you must attend the upcoming commitment meeting on tomorrow at 6:30pm at Cary COG. If you have any questions, please contact our coordinator, Minister Matt Darby.

Thanks to all who came out for our Spring Spruce Up on yesterday.  We had a great turnout of 43 members: 32 adults (20 from leadership) and 11 children. Here's breakdown per zone...

  • Zone 1: 14
  • Zone 2: 2
  • Zone 3: 7
  • Zone 4: 20 (shout-outs to my family and Smith families 'cause we roll deep)
Total hours worked (collectively) is 106.16. the average per member is 2.46 hours. So at $25 per hour, we saved the church $2,654.00. Not bad for a Saturday morning.

Minnesota School Shooting, Music Ministry Recruitment, Ark Encounter Trip (Pastoral Emphasis for 8/31)

Minnesota School Shooting Our hearts are heavy over the tragic school and church shooting in Minneapolis at Annunciation Catholic School, where two children lost their lives and many others—some as young as six—are recovering from serious injuries. Sadly, we couldn't get through a full week of traditional school before something like this happens. In this time of profound sorrow, let us hold close in prayer the grieving parents, families, and the entire Annunciation community. Though we cannot fully comprehend their pain, we can stand alongside them in faith, offering compassion, and intercession. May God bring comfort to those who mourn, healing to the wounded, and peace to a terrified community.  Of course, a mass shooting always brings up the issue for stricter gun laws. I agree we do need good legislation and sensible gun laws because it is the government's responsibility to protect its citizens. Ultimately, that will not solve our problem. For a country that has been ...
