Helen Wright Center, Church Family Meeting, Back 2 School Conference (Pastoral Emphasis for 7/27)

Please add Sidney Mills to your prayer list and pray for her salvation. We met her at the Phoenix Nursing home last Sunday.  She thinks Jesus is a good mentor and role model but does not believe in God.  Deacon Bowser is going back in a month to talk more with her.  Pray that God would change her heart and grant her repentance that leads to eternal life.

We have another opportunity to serve our community. The Deaconess will be serving dinner to the women at the Helen Wright Center in Raleigh on Thursday, July 31st.  If you would like to volunteer your time or make a donation, please contact Deaconess Angelique Cherry.

Don't forget our next Church Family Meeting on tomorrow at 7:00pm.  All members are asked to attend.

Join us for our Back to School Conference on Saturday, 8/2. Registration is at 9:30am and the conference is from 10am to noon.  It will include break-out sessions to encourage families to become well balance academically, physically, socially, and spiritually.  Afterwards, we'll go outside for games, music, fellowship, and food at the Tailgate Party that will last until 2:00pm. Attendees are asked to bring enough tailgate food that can be shared with several people. Come out and rock your favorite school or university apparel!

We had Ecuador testimonies from our returning missionaries Jae Smith, Decora Martin, Brittany Hardy and Amari Harris. It was great to hear not only what God did through the missionaries but also what God did IN them!

Dress Code, Spreading the Gospel to Japan, Skits & Pizza (Pastoral Emphasis from 7/26)

Thanks to all who came out to the Church Family Meeting. Our focus is reach the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Even though we don't have a formal dress code at church, I think we have an unspoken one. Our guest may perceive a dress code based on what they see on the stage from leadership. So in order to remove any barriers that might prevent some from visiting us or feeling comfortable in our service, the leadership will dress a little more casual. We will try this out until the end of the year and then evaluate. So don't be surprised when you see me not wearing a tie! I shared the following email that we got via our website to show that we are spreading the Gospel worldwide. To God be the glory! Greetings Mt. Zion Church Family...Today is July 27, 2009 and I would like to share the blessing that I have received from your church. I was talking to my very dear sister, soror, friend Sis Brandi Hancock and she and I were having a heart to heart. I told her that I was

One Life Saved

The Bible declares that all life is valuable. "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well" (Psalm 139:13-14). Here's the story of one life saved....
