Bereavement, Wednesday Family Worship, Happy Father's Day (Pastoral Emphasis for 6/15)

Bereavement: I wanted to inform everyone that one of our members, Sis. Cheryl King has passed away after a long battle with cancer.  She was the cousin of Deacon Warmack.  Please pray for the family that they find comfort in the fact that Sis. King is no longer suffering and has entered eternal joy with her Savior.

Thanks to all who participated in VBS and to all the teachers and organizers. We had a great VBS this year.

Join us on this Wednesday at 6pm for Wednesday Family Worship. We'll have dinner, praise & worship, and studying of the Bible as an entire church body. We'll end promptly at 8:00 pm.  So feel free to invite family members, friends, neighbors, classmates, and co-workers to join us.

As a church on mission, we have a team going on a mission trip to Ecuador in July. You might not be able to go but you can still support.  A Fish Fry Fundraiser will be held Friday, June 20th starting at 12:00 Noon until 7:00 PM at our 8500 Chapel Hill Road location.  This is to help raise funds and support for Sis. Decora Martin.

I'm sad to announce that today is the last "official" Sunday for Deacon Tony & Deaconess LaDonna Bethea. We thank them for their years of service to God and this church.  Though we hate to see them leave we will remain family and pray that God will continue to direct their steps.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads.  Like Mother's Day, Father's Day can be tough for many. Whether your father is no longer living, you didn't know your father, your father was not much of a father, or even if you desire to be a father and it has not happened it, I want to encourage you that God has revealed Himself as Father and through faith in Jesus, we have received the spirit of adoption and can call God, Abba.  And even if you've messed up as a dad, remember that you don't have to be perfect because Jesus was perfect for you.  Keep your eyes on Jesus and He'll sanctify you to become a better father.

Mortgage Burning Ceremony (10.6.24)

Today is a day of celebration and gratitude as we come together to witness the burning of our church’s mortgage! This moment represents years of faith, commitment, and sacrificial giving from this congregation. It’s a testament to God’s faithfulness and the dedication of His people. What we are celebrating today is not just the end of a financial obligation, but the beginning of new possibilities for missions, outreach, and service in our community.   ---     Psalm 127:1 says, ‘Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.’   This building has been more than just bricks and mortar; it has been a spiritual home where so many lives have been touched by the gospel. We recognize that while we’ve paid off the mortgage, it is the Lord who has truly built this house, sustaining us through every season.   --- History of the Vision         Though this chapter is closing, the mission God has ...

Responding to the Flooding, Christmas in July Food Drive, New Sermon Series (Pastoral Emphasis for 7/13)

Responding to the Flooding All of us are painfully aware of the devastating flooding that struck our nation recently. As of Friday evening, the confirmed death toll in Texas has risen to 129, with at least 150 individuals still missing across the state. Our hearts are heavy, and we grieve for the lives lost and the families enduring unimaginable pain. One of the first things people tend to do is look for someone to blame. Was it the fault of the warning system not being early enough? Was it the fault of the government (state and federal)? Was it the fault of God? If God is so good, why do we suffer with natural disasters like flooding that takes the lives of seemingly innocent people like young children? The reality is that the fault lies with us. Humanity decided to rebel against the Creator God, thereby, ushering in sin and the fall from God's perfect creation. Natural disasters happen because we live in a fallen world ravaged by sin. Natural disasters like these floods are trag...
