Musical Benefit Program, Thanksgiving Outreach, Follow Me (Pastoral Emphasis for 11/10)

Today's reading from the Chronological Reading Plan: Luke 22; John 13

Tomorrow is Veteran's Day.  We want to recognize and thank all of those who have served our country.

LifeGroup Leaders, there's a meeting for LifeGroup Leaders on Tuesday at 6:30pm. Please come out as I have some important matters to share with you.

Don't forget to register for our upcoming theological seminar on Saturday from 9:00am to 11:00am. The topic will be World Religions. Come out and learn about world religions (such as Islam, Hindu, Mormonism, Roman Catholic, etc.) so you will know the fundamental differences so you'll be better equipped to share the Gospel.

On Saturday afternoon, there will be a Praise & Worship Musical Benefit program at 4pm for the new church, New Life Ministries of Apex.  Please come out and be prepared to give generously.

Mt. Zion will be partnering with Mosaic Church on Saturday, 11/23, to distribute food baskets to local families for Thanksgiving.  We are asking members to contribute items for the food baskets ($10 grocery store gift card, can of corn, can of green beans, box of jiffy cornbread mix, stuffing, gravy, can of cranberries, package of mashed potatoes).  Sign up online to volunteer to assemble and distribute the food baskets.

Our current theme is "Making Disciples Who Make Disciples". But what does it mean to be a disciple? What does it mean to truly follow Jesus?

As a church family, I'm asking that we all read Platt's “Follow Me”. This is the book every believer should read.  We will have a Bible Study series on "Follow Me" at the beginning of next year.

This afternoon at 4pm, Bro. Barry Singleton gave his initial sermon and was licensed as an evangelist.  He preached from Luke 15:11-32, a messaged entitled "Are You Wasting Your Inheritance?"

Dress Code, Spreading the Gospel to Japan, Skits & Pizza (Pastoral Emphasis from 7/26)

Thanks to all who came out to the Church Family Meeting. Our focus is reach the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Even though we don't have a formal dress code at church, I think we have an unspoken one. Our guest may perceive a dress code based on what they see on the stage from leadership. So in order to remove any barriers that might prevent some from visiting us or feeling comfortable in our service, the leadership will dress a little more casual. We will try this out until the end of the year and then evaluate. So don't be surprised when you see me not wearing a tie! I shared the following email that we got via our website to show that we are spreading the Gospel worldwide. To God be the glory! Greetings Mt. Zion Church Family...Today is July 27, 2009 and I would like to share the blessing that I have received from your church. I was talking to my very dear sister, soror, friend Sis Brandi Hancock and she and I were having a heart to heart. I told her that I was

One Life Saved
