Church Family Meeting, Memorial Scholarship Applications, Family in Need (Pastoral Emphasis for 5/6)

Sis. Cynthia Whitney delivered her Initial Sermon on Sunday at 4pm. Her message was from Matt. 25:1-13, "Preparing to Meet the Bridegroom".  Thanks to everyone who came out to join us for this special occasion!

Our the Church Family Meeting was Monday at 7pm. We gave updates on our financial situation, ministry realignment, and our weekly services. Starting in June, Sunday School moves to 9 to 9:45am and Worship Service starts at 10am.

High School seniors: Applications are now available for the J.A. Lewis Memorial Scholarship. Check with the church office for the application packet. Applications are due on May 27, 2012.

VBS is quickly approaching (see announcements for details). You can pay your registration via the offering by writing "VBS" on the special offering line on the giving envelope.

We have a Mt. Zion family needing financial help with housing. The need is great so we're asking our church family to help through the love offering.  The love offering from this Sunday and next will go to help this family with housing.  Please come prepared to give generously to the love offering.  Remember that our great God has adopted us all into His family through His Son, Jesus Christ. So we are no longer mere individuals with selfish concerns but a part of a spiritual family that cares for the needs of one another.  Thank you in advance for your generous giving.

Acts 4:32-35 (ESV): Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things that belonged to him was his own, but they had everything in common. And with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all. There was not a needy person among them, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold and laid it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need.

Dress Code, Spreading the Gospel to Japan, Skits & Pizza (Pastoral Emphasis from 7/26)

Thanks to all who came out to the Church Family Meeting. Our focus is reach the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Even though we don't have a formal dress code at church, I think we have an unspoken one. Our guest may perceive a dress code based on what they see on the stage from leadership. So in order to remove any barriers that might prevent some from visiting us or feeling comfortable in our service, the leadership will dress a little more casual. We will try this out until the end of the year and then evaluate. So don't be surprised when you see me not wearing a tie! I shared the following email that we got via our website to show that we are spreading the Gospel worldwide. To God be the glory! Greetings Mt. Zion Church Family...Today is July 27, 2009 and I would like to share the blessing that I have received from your church. I was talking to my very dear sister, soror, friend Sis Brandi Hancock and she and I were having a heart to heart. I told her that I was

One Life Saved
