Haiti Mission Trip, Holiday Schedule, Jr. Deacons (Pastoral Emphasis for 12/18)

Radical Experiment 2011 Update
  • Today's Scripture Reading: Hebrews 1-6 (We have read 96% of the Bible so far. Almost done!)
  • Today's Country: Vietnam (52% Buddhist)
  • Spend time in another context: Give some of your time to help make the gospel known outside of your normal context (different community, city, nation). We have a team going to Haiti in a few weeks  on January 1. We prayed for our Haiti Mission Trip Team. Please continue to pray for their safety and that their trip will be fruitful.
Haiti Mission Trip Team:
  • Deacon Rufus Credle
  • Deacon George Brown
  • Sis. Nicole Sawyer
  • Sis. Stephanie Baker

There's still time to join Project: Know Thy Neighbor. The Christmas holiday is a great time to get to know at least 1 neighbor (one that you don't know at all or know very well). Go to radical.mtzioncary.org/neighbors for ideas on how to get to know your neighbors.

Christ First Christian Fellowship Center is having their 4th Annual Christmas Concert today at 6pm at the Herbert Young Community Center.

Our Holiday Schedule: No Prayer/Testimony Meetings & Bible Studies for the next two weeks.  Join us for a 90 minute service on Christmas Sunday at 8am. Our New Year's Eve service at 10pm with Communion after Midnight.  We will not have service on New Year's Day.

The Deacons presented $25 certificates to our Junior Deacons. We are very proud of these young men for serving as Junior Deacons.

Part of Radical Experiment is to give sacrificially for a specific purpose. We are asking all members to sacrifice to give more at least 5% more until the end of the year to help with our budget deficient. If you are able to give more, please do so. You can give online here.

Dress Code, Spreading the Gospel to Japan, Skits & Pizza (Pastoral Emphasis from 7/26)

Thanks to all who came out to the Church Family Meeting. Our focus is reach the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Even though we don't have a formal dress code at church, I think we have an unspoken one. Our guest may perceive a dress code based on what they see on the stage from leadership. So in order to remove any barriers that might prevent some from visiting us or feeling comfortable in our service, the leadership will dress a little more casual. We will try this out until the end of the year and then evaluate. So don't be surprised when you see me not wearing a tie! I shared the following email that we got via our website to show that we are spreading the Gospel worldwide. To God be the glory! Greetings Mt. Zion Church Family...Today is July 27, 2009 and I would like to share the blessing that I have received from your church. I was talking to my very dear sister, soror, friend Sis Brandi Hancock and she and I were having a heart to heart. I told her that I was

One Life Saved

The Bible declares that all life is valuable. "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well" (Psalm 139:13-14). Here's the story of one life saved....
