Zion Live, Bereavement, Faith in Action Response, Friends & Family Day (Pastoral Emphasis from 9/13)

A BIG shout-out to our IT/Media Ministry as we launched our new online experience called Zion Live. Our online experience now offers more interactive features than before and we will be adding more in the future. Zion Live will be a great way for people to experience God with Mt. Zion no matter where they are.

We have several members in our church that are currently experiencing bereavement. Let's keep them in our prayers...
  • Sis. Michelle Skeen - passing of her mother
  • Sis. Josephine Singleton - passing of her father
  • Sis. LaDonna Bethea - passing of her sister
  • Minister Candace Walden - passing of her husband

Here's some info on Wednesday Bible Study for the next few weeks:
  • This week, we will watch & discuss an awesome message from Pastor Francis Chan
  • Next week, no Bible Study due to Fall Renewal service
  • On 9/30, we start a new series called "Does God Know Your Next Move"

The Couples Ministry is doing advance planning for Sweethearts' Ball 2010 and would like for all couples to pre-register. The cutoff is Oct. 4th to sign up. Please invite other couples and sign them up also. More details to come.

I'm so excited about our Faith in Action campaign. You can watch the promo here. After the service, the Mt Zion family responded well to the message of putting our faith into action and all the sign-up sheets for our initial three areas of service (Bond Park Compost Education Unit, Road Side Litter Sweep, Raleigh Helping Hand Mission) were filled immediately!

We have new service opportunities available...
  • Cary Health & Rehab
  • Claire Bridge Assisted Living
  • Chatham Creek Nursing Home
  • Phoenix Assisted Living
  • Dillard Drive Middle School
Friends & Family Day is 9/27. Dress will be causal, worship will be intentional, and food will be served! Join us and bring a friend!

Mortgage Burning Ceremony (10.6.24)

Today is a day of celebration and gratitude as we come together to witness the burning of our church’s mortgage! This moment represents years of faith, commitment, and sacrificial giving from this congregation. It’s a testament to God’s faithfulness and the dedication of His people. What we are celebrating today is not just the end of a financial obligation, but the beginning of new possibilities for missions, outreach, and service in our community.   ---     Psalm 127:1 says, ‘Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.’   This building has been more than just bricks and mortar; it has been a spiritual home where so many lives have been touched by the gospel. We recognize that while we’ve paid off the mortgage, it is the Lord who has truly built this house, sustaining us through every season.   --- History of the Vision         Though this chapter is closing, the mission God has ...

My Hope Sunday, M:T Not a Competition, Prayer Gathering (Pastoral Emphasis for 10/13)

Today was My Hope Sunday ! We had several invited guests, and my message was from 1 Samuel 8:4-9 on "Looking for a Savior".  Israel wanted a king like the other nations who would “save” them. This is the very definition of a functional savior. A functional savior is anything or anyone a person looks to for ultimate hope, security, identity, or fulfillment in place of God. Whatever you look to to “save” you from your problems, fears, or insecurities is your functional savior. But all of our functional saviors cannot save us. Jesus is the Savior we really need!  Our greatest need in this life and the life to come is to have our sins forgiven by trusting in Jesus as our Lord and Savior! Today, my wife shared her My Hope Testimony .   (RSS Subscribers: click here to watch the video) Missions:Together’s "Not a Competition" is a powerful missions gathering designed to re-ignite your passion for missions on Saturday, November 2, hosted at The Summit Church in Apex.
