NC Pagan Pride Day, Fall Renewal Services (Pastoral Emphasis from 9/14)

Psalms 119 176-day challenge: Today's verse is 147.

There are a couple of great opportunities for growth (especially those who have completed New Members): For those new in their faith, the next New Believers class starts on 10/5; and the Fall session of the Spiritual Enrichment class starts on 10/12.

Couples, don't forget about the Couples' Retreat hosted here at Mt. Zion on 9/20 to discuss "How Deep Is Your Love?"

On 9/20, the NC state fairgrounds will be the site of the Central NC Pagan Pride Day Festival (see http://www.ncpaganpride.org/ for details)– one of several related festivals being held around the state. It will be a day dedicated to both celebrating and educating people about various forms of paganism – earth religions, tradition witchcraft, magick, worship of the Aesir & Vanir, Wicca, and others. Cary Christian Church is asking area churches to join them for a "Prayer for Light". Mt. Zion will join with them to pray for those who are deceived and lost that they would see the light of Jesus Christ. We will schedule a prayer service on Saturday (after Couples' Retreat). Stay tuned for info.

Our Fall Renewal services will be taking place on 9/24 – 9/26. Three nights to renew, revive, inspire, and encourage you. Our own ministers as well as "special guest" Pastor Larry Snead will be our speakers. Everyone is welcome to join us.

On Oct. 26, we will be having our Family & Friends Day. Start thinking about inviting your friends, co-workers, family members, etc (specifically those who don't know the Lord). As always, food is a major part of this day so we're asking for members to donate bottled water, punch, desserts, and money to help us purchase food that hospitality will cook and prepare. Use the special event line on your giving envelope and write "Family & Friends".

Dress Code, Spreading the Gospel to Japan, Skits & Pizza (Pastoral Emphasis from 7/26)

Thanks to all who came out to the Church Family Meeting. Our focus is reach the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Even though we don't have a formal dress code at church, I think we have an unspoken one. Our guest may perceive a dress code based on what they see on the stage from leadership. So in order to remove any barriers that might prevent some from visiting us or feeling comfortable in our service, the leadership will dress a little more casual. We will try this out until the end of the year and then evaluate. So don't be surprised when you see me not wearing a tie! I shared the following email that we got via our website to show that we are spreading the Gospel worldwide. To God be the glory! Greetings Mt. Zion Church Family...Today is July 27, 2009 and I would like to share the blessing that I have received from your church. I was talking to my very dear sister, soror, friend Sis Brandi Hancock and she and I were having a heart to heart. I told her that I was

One Life Saved

The Bible declares that all life is valuable. "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well" (Psalm 139:13-14). Here's the story of one life saved....
