VBS, Speaking at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Happy Father’s Day (Pastoral Emphasis for 6/18)

Congratulations to Phillip & Jakayla Credle on getting married yesterday!

We welcome Sis. Teresa C. Gaddy who recently joined the church on Christian Experience.

VBS starts this Wednesday, June 21st through Friday the 23rd, 6PM to 9PM each night. Then on next Sunday, we'll have our VBS wrap-up during the church service. Right after the service, stick around for a Family cookout. To each of our Mt. Zion families, please feel free to bring your favorite dessert to share Come dressed comfortably in your VBS T-shirts and jeans.

Don't eat too much at the cook-out because later that afternoon, I will be speaking at Ebenezer M.B. Church in Durham at 4pm for their Ministers Ordination Service. The Male Choir will be accompanying me. All are welcome to come out. Your prayers and support is appreciated.

Mt. Zion is blessed to have men who are taking responsibility for their children.
Mt. Zion is blessed to have men who are following God.
Mt. Zion is blessed to have men who are leading their homes.
Mt. Zion is blessed to have men who are raising their children.
So we celebrate those good fathers today! Happy Father's Day!

Like Mother's Day, Father's Day can be tough for many. Whether your father is no longer living, you didn't know your father, your father was not much of a father, or even if you desire to be a father and it has not happened it, I want to remind you that God has revealed Himself as Father and through faith in Jesus, we have received the spirit of adoption and can call God, Abba (Daddy). Even if you've messed up as a dad, remember that you don't have to be perfect because Jesus was perfect for you. Keep your eyes on Jesus and He'll sanctify you to become a better father.

Dress Code, Spreading the Gospel to Japan, Skits & Pizza (Pastoral Emphasis from 7/26)

Thanks to all who came out to the Church Family Meeting. Our focus is reach the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Even though we don't have a formal dress code at church, I think we have an unspoken one. Our guest may perceive a dress code based on what they see on the stage from leadership. So in order to remove any barriers that might prevent some from visiting us or feeling comfortable in our service, the leadership will dress a little more casual. We will try this out until the end of the year and then evaluate. So don't be surprised when you see me not wearing a tie! I shared the following email that we got via our website to show that we are spreading the Gospel worldwide. To God be the glory! Greetings Mt. Zion Church Family...Today is July 27, 2009 and I would like to share the blessing that I have received from your church. I was talking to my very dear sister, soror, friend Sis Brandi Hancock and she and I were having a heart to heart. I told her that I was

One Life Saved

The Bible declares that all life is valuable. "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well" (Psalm 139:13-14). Here's the story of one life saved....
